Paris has 13 palace hotels on the Atout France list published on 2 June 2026, out of 33 in France; the distinction was created in 2010 to single out a handful of five-star hotels. This 2026 selection, curated by La Revue des Hôtels’ editorial team, takes you to the ten addresses that define Parisian luxury today: encompassing imperial heritage, triple Michelin-starred dining, signature spas, and the French art of hospitality. 1. Le Bristol Paris hotel
An absolute benchmark since 1925, Le Bristol embodies the French art de vivre within a private mansion on Faubourg Saint-Honoré. It features 188 rooms and suites in the heart of Paris, Epicure, three Michelin stars under chef Arnaud Faye, 114 Faubourg (one star), the Spa Le Bristol by La Mer and a rooftop pool lined with teak like a yacht deck. 2. Le Cheval Blanc Paris hotel
The LVMH Palace hotel, housed in the former Samaritaine department store. It features 72 rooms and suites, all facing the Seine or the rooftops of Paris, designed by Peter Marino. A signature Dior Spa, Arnaud Donckele’s Plénitude (three Michelin stars), Hakuba (two stars) and Le Tout-Paris (one star), plus a 30-metre pool. Opened in 2021, it joined the palace list in 2026. 3. The Peninsula Paris hotel
The Ritz Paris, which used to hold this place, does not appear on the 2026 Atout France palace list. In its place, The Peninsula Paris, on Avenue Kléber a short walk from the Arc de Triomphe, in a historic building nicknamed the “little Versailles” that reopened after renovation in 2014. 200 rooms and suites, including 93 suites, among the most spacious in Paris. On the roof, David Bizet’s L’Oiseau Blanc holds two Michelin stars; The Peninsula Spa has a 20-metre indoor pool. We tested it and rated it 9.5/10 (read our review). 4. Four Seasons Hotel George V
On Avenue George V, with 243 rooms, including 60 suites, and three starred restaurants holding six Michelin stars between them: Le Cinq (three stars, Christian Le Squer), L’Orangerie (two) and Le George (one). The giant floral arrangements by Jeff Leatham have become a globally recognised visual signature. It also offers a spa, a panoramic fitness room, and one of Paris’ most beautiful inner courtyards. 5. Le Plaza Athénée hotel
On Avenue Montaigne, this is the couture address par excellence, neighbours with Dior and Chanel. It offers 208 rooms and suites, whose red flower-adorned balconies have become iconic. Features include La Grande Table du Plaza Athénée (one Michelin star, executive chef Jocelyn Herland), the luminous LE BAR and the Dior Spa. 6. Mandarin Oriental Lutetia Paris hotel
On the Left Bank, this is the only Palace hotel in the Saint-Germain-des-Prés district, housed in the historic former Lutetia building from 1910. It features 184 rooms and suites, the Lutetia brasserie, and the Josephine bar, in homage to Josephine Baker. The Spa at Mandarin Oriental Lutetia has a 17-metre pool, sauna, hammam and jacuzzi, and the upper floors look towards the Eiffel Tower. The quintessential Left Bank palace hotel; its online rates could not be read on 13 October 2026.

7. Le Meurice hotel
Facing the Tuileries Garden, this hotel offers 160 rooms and suites (121 rooms, 39 suites) in an 18th-century spirit. It features the 2 Michelin-starred Le Meurice Alain Ducasse restaurant, led by chef Amaury Bouhours, the legendary Bar 228, and the tea room that inspired Salvador Dalí. The Dorchester Collection has managed to preserve the soul of this Palace hotel while propelling it into modernity. 8. Hôtel de Crillon, A Rosewood Hotel
Located on Place de la Concorde, in an 18th-century palace commissioned by Louis XV. It offers 124 rooms and suites, redesigned by leading contemporary designers (Karl Lagerfeld, Tristan Auer, Cyril Vergniol). Features include Nonos by Paul Pairet, Les Ambassadeurs bar beneath its original gold leaf, and the Sense spa with its pool. On Avenue George V, offering 76 rooms and suites with an Italian dolce vita spirit. 10. Shangri-La Paris hotel
On Avenue d’Iéna, housed in Roland Bonaparte’s private mansion, nephew of Napoleon I. It features 100 rooms and suites, with direct views of the Eiffel Tower for the most prestigious ones. Its restaurants are Shang Palace, a Cantonese table that held France’s only Michelin star for Chinese cooking from 2011 to 2024, La Bauhinia and, since May 2026, the Maison Roland bistro in the garden. The imperial salons are listed historical monuments.
