Twelve years at the helm of Eden Rock

Fabrice Moizan has managed Eden Rock St Barths since 2014. Following Hurricane Irma in 2017, he spearheaded two years of reconstruction work, leading up to the hotel’s reopening in late November 2019. He also expanded the brand beyond the hotel proper: villa and yacht rentals, boutiques, and collaborations with Chopard, Goyard and Assouline.

Prior to his time in the West Indies, he learnt his craft at the Hôtel Barrière Le Normandy in Deauville, the Radisson SAS in Monastir, Tunisia, and then at Fouquet’s Barrière in Paris. He also joins the executive committee of Oetker Hotels, whilst remaining temporarily involved in the management of Eden Rock.

A homecoming on rue du Faubourg

The new chief executive is already familiar with the property through professional lineage: he cites Pierre Ferchaud, who managed Le Bristol for around twenty years, as his mentor. In a double swap, his successor in Saint-Barthélemy, Jean-Alexis Costa, hitherto Operations Director at Eden Rock, actually began his career at Le Bristol twenty-five years ago.

His predecessor, Luca Allegri, stepped down from his duties on 13 March 2026, after ten years as President and Managing Director of Le Bristol and Head of Operations for the group.

The palace hotel he inherits

Opened in 1925, Le Bristol is celebrating its centenary. It was the first hotel in France to be awarded Palace distinction, and features nearly 190 rooms and suites surrounding a 1,200 sq m French formal garden. In terms of dining, Epicure retains its three Michelin stars, first awarded in 2009, under Chef Arnaud Faye. Michelin-starred 114 Faubourg is currently closed following a fire.

The hotel also boasts Café Antonia, Le Jardin Français, Le Bar du Bristol, a top-floor swimming pool designed to resemble the deck of a sailing yacht, and Spa Le Bristol by La Mer. The Michelin Guide awards it three Keys, its highest accolade for hospitality.

Attentiveness over protocol

Fabrice Moizan states that he wants to place genuine care and warmth at the heart of service, rather than rigid protocol. It is not about reinventing Le Bristol, but preserving its grand family residence spirit while evolving it through subtle refinements, serving a fiercely loyal clientele spanning generations.

Our perspective

By entrusting its Parisian palace to the man behind Eden Rock, Oetker Hotels is placing its faith in a hotelier who has proved his ability to turn a hotel into a lifestyle brand far beyond its walls. The challenge will be to introduce the relaxed elegance of Saint-Barthélemy without unsettling a clientele deeply attached to the hotel’s traditional codes.
