In practice, on 30 October, no room was on offer for the nights of 1, 10, 15, 20, 30 and 31 December, and Booking.com showed the hotel as unavailable on 10 December. The first night we were able to book falls on 1 January 2027, in a Junior Suite only. For a stay over the festive season, it is best to call the hotel’s reservations team.

The amount shown does not change with the “taxes and fees included” option. On the dates tested, the 30 m² Superior rooms were not on offer.

To put these prices in context, the United Kingdom is already the European country where a five-star hotel costs the most, and Mayfair has another recent opening, The Shepherd Mayfair hotel.

The range starts with the 30 m² Superior rooms, overlooking the courtyard or the city, followed by the Deluxe and Grand Deluxe rooms of 38 to 39 m². The interiors, by Richmond International, draw on the tailors of Savile Row, the fashion houses of Bond Street and the neighbourhood’s galleries.

The suites are named after the neighbourhood and the Astor family: Westbury Suite (49 m²), Caroline Astor Suite (60 m²), Conduit, Savile Row and Gallery Suites (79 to 80 m²), then the 150 m² Presidential Suite. On the top floor, the three-bedroom Penthouse Suite, 270 m², will open onto a 150 m² private terrace with 360-degree views over London.

A bar will follow later: the official website describes it as opening “soon”, with live jazz and cocktails, in the spirit of St. Regis bars. Breakfast, charged separately, will be served at Le Perroquet, and room service will run 24 hours a day.

A butler assigned to every stay

As across the brand, every stay will include a dedicated St. Regis butler, the service that made the brand’s name. The hotel also promises its house rituals, from champagne sabrage to midnight suppers, inherited from Caroline Astor, a leading figure of New York high society. For wellbeing, The St. Regis Spa will have two treatment suites, along with a gym reserved for guests.

Over 1,000 artworks on the corner of Bond Street

The hotel will display more than 1,000 works by over 80 artists, selected by the House of Bandits gallery of the Sarabande Foundation, the foundation set up by fashion designer Lee Alexander McQueen. Outside, Sotheby’s, Cork Street, the Royal Academy of Arts and Burlington Arcade are a few minutes’ walk away.
