Rosewood Calistoga resort opens on 15 April 2027 in Napa Valley, between forest and vines

On a wooded ridge in the north of Napa Valley, California, Rosewood is preparing a 96-room estate set above the vines. The Rosewood Calistoga resort will welcome its first guests on 15 April 2027, the first date offered by the booking engine on the official website. It will be the group’s third address in California.

First nights on 15 April 2027

On Rosewood’s official website, a search for the night of 14 April 2027 returns no rooms; from 15 April, rooms, suites and lodges are all available. Bookings are therefore open, and travel advisers in the Rosewood Elite network have dedicated access with perks: an upgrade subject to availability, breakfast for two offered as a credit, and guaranteed late check-out at 2pm.

Calistoga joins a busy list of Rosewood openings planned for 2027, alongside the Rosewood Ranfaru resort and its 120 villas in the Maldives and the Rosewood Milan hotel, set in a former bank near Via Montenapoleone.

48 hectares above Calistoga

The estate covers 118 acres, or around 48 hectares, on a tree-lined ridge overlooking the small spa town of Calistoga. The historic centre, with its shops and wine tasting rooms, is within walking distance.

The architecture was conceived by the late architect Ed Tuttle, and Atelier Marsh, the studio behind the interiors, is carrying his vision forward. The buildings follow the contours of the land and favour natural materials, blending into the forest rather than dominating it.

46 m² rooms with their own fire pit

The 96 keys include 31 suites, three of them Signature Suites. The Estate, Forest View and Vineyard View rooms, spread across two-storey buildings, measure around 46 m² and differ by their outlook: the heart of the estate, the forest or the rows of vines. All have a furnished terrace with a fire pit and a table for dining outdoors, a freestanding bathtub, a rain shower and double basins.

The suites reach around 93 m², with a fireplace and a separate living room. At the top of the range, three lodges of around 140 m², including the Palisades and the Vintners, add a kitchen, a living room, two bathrooms and a large fireplace. The visuals released so far are pre-opening images.

What will the estate’s restaurant serve?

The signature restaurant will follow the seasons with a menu that changes with what comes in: heirloom vegetables, herbs and citrus picked every morning in the estate’s gardens, produce from neighbouring farms and wines from the valley. An intimate cocktail bar with a wine programme and a poolside restaurant facing the vines complete the line-up. Their names have not yet been revealed.

Rosewood does not claim a vineyard of its own, but promises dinners under the stars among the vines, cooking workshops and partnerships with farms and wineries across the region.

Six treatment rooms at the Asaya spa

Wellness is in the hands of Asaya, Rosewood’s spa concept: six treatment rooms, an outdoor garden, a hydrotherapy area and a gym. A movement studio hosts yoga classes, and guided hikes head out into the hills.

The estate will have two pools, one reserved for adults and the other for families, as well as the Rosewood Explorers kids’ club. For weddings and corporate events, more than 1,860 m² of event space is planned, both indoors and outdoors.

Rosewood Residences: 20 villas and 13 plots

Alongside the hotel, the residential side, Rosewood Residences Calistoga, brings together 20 private villas with four and five bedrooms and 13 building plots, which are not part of the hotel’s 96 keys. Owners will enjoy the resort’s services.

Daniel Simon, from Phnom Penh to Napa Valley
