George V, Michaël Bartocetti’s sleigh

Michaël Bartocetti tells the story of Father Christmas’s sleigh passing through fresh snow: furrows sculpt the piece and draw the silhouette of a fir tree. Beneath, a revisited Poire Belle-Hélène, featuring vanilla mousse and Williams pear, pear confit with anise and cardamom, dark chocolate cream from Cuba and Genoa bread biscuit.
Pre-orders will open on 15 October, through the hotel, for collection starting 17 December. A plated version will open the festive tea time at La Galerie from 4 December.
The George V website →At Lutetia, a crown already on pre-order
Our favouriteNicolas Guercio gives the log the shape of a crown, to be placed in the centre of the table: twisted, adorned with white chocolate bells, sugar balls, roasted pecans and wafer leaves. Inside, pear, pecan and vanilla, with a homemade praline shortbread.
It is already available for pre-order on the hotel’s online shop, in a limited edition, for collection on 23, 24, 25, 29, 30 and 31 December. On Sundays, the palace’s Brasserie also serves a brunch with a seafood buffet.
Starck’s Bar Long, caramel version

L’Envoûtée du Bar Long takes inspiration from Philippe Starck’s long backlit table: continuous curves, embossed arches, and a caramel coating enhanced with gold. Yazid Ichemrahen signs it with Alexandre Favre, featuring two vanillas, a flowing hazelnut praline and a mandarin marmalade.
At €105, it is one of the most affordable palace logs, servings not specified. Pre-orders will open on 1 November on the online shop, for click & collect until 31 December.
Le Bristol carves a holly wreath

Maxence Barbot transforms the wreath hung on doors into a chocolate log carved with holly leaves, featuring notes of yuzu, iyokan, candied kumquats and caramel rice pudding.
Announced as a limited edition, it serves ten and can be ordered via click & collect from 25 November, 48 hours in advance, for collection at the Épicerie des Ateliers du Bristol.
The Bristol shop →Bojagi, a tied gift on Rue de la Paix

Naraé Kim draws inspiration from bojagi, the Korean art of wrapping gifts in a square of fabric: her log is a present wrapped in a tied cloth. Inside, chestnut and pear on a black tea biscuit. Order dates have not yet been published.
A Morris column for €90 facing the Opera

At the restaurant of InterContinental Paris Le Grand, Simon Letaillieur reproduces the Morris column, encircled by a Belle Époque poster featuring the Opéra Garnier and Café de la Paix. Inside, a revisited Poire Belle-Hélène.
It is the cheapest in our table, announced to order from 1 to 25 December, via the online shop or at 01 40 07 36 36.
The Café de la Paix shop →What is Trianon Palace preparing in Versailles?

As a bonus, Eddie Benghanem imagines “Le Voyage de Simon”, centred around a travelling sheep. The Carnet d’Hiver de Simon is described as a vintage dark chocolate suitcase, with a QR code that animates the character; the released visual shows the collection’s universe. L’Escale de Noël, a more classic option, is announced at €49.
Plaza Athénée, Peninsula, La Réserve
At Plaza Athénée, Angelo Musa, Meilleur Ouvrier de France, signs “Au pied du sapin” with Damien Gibaud, in a limited edition featuring hazelnut, pecan and lemon. According to the hotel’s festive booklet, it can be ordered from 2 November, at least 72 hours before collection at La Galerie, on +33 1 53 67 65 97.
At Peninsula, Anne Coruble has designed L’Épi de Blé with the house of Chaumet, covered in copper scales, a Chaumet jewellery motif since Empress Joséphine’s tiara. Our article on the Peninsula log tells its origin story.
At La Réserve, the Signature log by Jordan Talbot is already on the hotel’s online shop. It takes the form of three books, in homage to the Duc de Morny library, on a hazelnut, vanilla and caramel base.
Ritz, Cheval Blanc, Crillon: the other logs
At Ritz Paris, Olivier Lainé, the new pastry chef, signs Cœur d’Ourson, a 30 cm sculpture: the house bear clutches a white chocolate heart filled with marshmallow. It can be ordered 48 hours in advance.
Ritz Paris Le Comptoir unveils the most expensive log of the year: the Carrousel by Joris Theysset, in 65 numbered copies, a musical box featuring five Ritz animals. Orders announced from 12 November; the Écrins collection also offers three logs at €85.
At Cheval Blanc, Le Casse-Noisette by Maxime Frédéric stands behind a caramel drum with Art Deco lines; the festive shop will open on 19 November. At Crillon, Matthieu Carlin pays tribute to Jules Verne with a copper chocolate submarine, to be ordered from 9 November.
At Shangri-La, Timothy Lam carves La Feuille de Chêne, topped with three bronze powder acorns, to order 24 hours in advance. At Mandarin Oriental, Paris, L’Impériale is limited to 150 copies. At Saint James, Coline Doussin reproduces the hotel’s key wall, to be ordered until 21 December on 01 44 05 81 88.
