On 8 November 2026, the Four Seasons I will leave the Canary Islands for its first transatlantic crossing, heading towards the Caribbean where the yacht will spend its winter season. Eight days on the open sea without a stopover, which Four Seasons Yachts and the Austrian clinic Lanserhof have decided to turn into a preventive medicine programme.

Why a crossing, rather than an island cruise

Choosing a transatlantic journey is no scheduling coincidence. A regeneration cure requires continuity that stopovers interrupt: no shore excursions, no altered meal times, no excursion schedules to keep. The crossing naturally imposes the framework that land-based clinics spend their time rebuilding behind walls.

Publicité

It is also the window when the yacht repositions itself between seasons, moving from a quietening Mediterranean to a filling Caribbean. These transfer voyages are usually sold cheaper and less successfully than itineraries with port stops. Filling them with a medical programme is an elegant way to turn a constraint to advantage.

What “The Lanserhof Reset” entails

The protocol begins with an individual consultation at the onboard medical centre, resulting in a tailored programme designed for each passenger. This is followed by specialist consultations, recovery treatments, nutritional guidance and guided movement, spread across the eight days at sea.

Lanserhof operates three land-based addresses, including the one in Sylt on the North Sea, which we featured in our overview of longevity tourism. This is the first time the Austrian house is taking its method out to sea, and the first partnership of its kind for the Four Seasons fleet.

A six-month-old yacht

The Four Seasons I was inaugurated in March 2026. Fourteen decks, ninety-five suites, a crew-to-guest ratio close to one-to-one: the vessel was designed as a floating hotel rather than a cruise ship, featuring a retractable marina platform at sea level and an onboard medical centre, which serves as the foundation for the programme.

Our perspective

In the space of two years, longevity has become the defining concept structuring high-end hospitality, from Swiss clinics to Thai resorts. Seeing it step aboard a yacht primarily shows that the market is looking for niches where guests are captive long enough for a protocol to make sense: eight days on the open sea is precisely the duration of a short clinic cure. One question remains unanswered by the press release, however: the follow-up once the passenger disembarks, which is ultimately what distinguishes a medical cure from a wellness stay.
