Four Seasons Resort Megève Reopens December 16, 2026: First Winter as a Palace

The Four Seasons Resort Megève reopens on December 16, 2026 for its first winter as a Palace. Awarded by Atout France on June 2, 2026, Megève’s only Palace kicks off the season with a spa enhanced by an outdoor jacuzzi and a salt wall sauna, alongside an exclusive partnership in France with skincare brand myBlend.

A first winter under the Palace distinction

On June 2, 2026, the Four Seasons Resort Megève joined the 2026 collection of French Palaces, which features 33 addresses including six new entrants. It is the only Palace in Megève, and the third Four Seasons Palace in France, following the George V in Paris and the Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat. In the Alps, it joins the Palaces of Courchevel and the Hôtel Royal in Évian.

“The Palace distinction is recognition of the values of excellence passed down from generation to generation within the finest French houses,” praised Baroness Ariane de Rothschild. The December 16 reopening thus marks the hotel’s first winter season under this title, awarded for a three-year period.

A Rothschild chalet at Mont d’Arbois

Owned by Edmond de Rothschild Heritage and operated by Four Seasons, the hotel is rooted in the history of the Mont d’Arbois estate, envisioned in 1920 by Noémie de Rothschild. Opened in December 2017, it was designed by architect Bruno Legrand and decorated by Pierre-Yves Rochon alongside Ariane de Rothschild, who integrated artworks commissioned from artists or drawn from her personal collection. Joachim Jacob serves as general manager.

Most of the 55 keys, comprising 41 rooms and 14 suites, feature a fireplace and balcony, and the hotel offers ski-in ski-out access to the Mont d’Arbois estate. It opens every winter from mid-December to mid-April and every summer from mid-June to mid-September.

L’Idéal 1850 and its suite on the slopes

On the slopes, at an altitude of 1,850 metres facing Mont Blanc, L’Idéal 1850 serves as a high-altitude restaurant. Upstairs, the Suite Idéal spans over 100 m², complete with a dedicated butler, a private dinner, and the privilege of first tracks on the slopes in the morning before opening to the public.

An enhanced spa for the season

Spanning approximately 900 m², the spa features six treatment rooms, a sauna, a hammam, and a heated indoor-outdoor pool open year-round. In July 2026, it was enhanced with a twelve-person outdoor jacuzzi and a natural wood sauna with a salt wall. This winter, Four Seasons Megève also becomes the first address in France to offer the CellSynergy2 technology by myBlend, as part of an exclusive partnership in Megève.

Benjamin, Kaito and 17,000 bottles

The Michelin-recommended restaurant Benjamin serves French cuisine crafted by chef Armando Acquaviva, who also offers a signature fondue served inside a dome in the gardens. Kaito blends Japanese and Peruvian influences around a sushi counter. The wine cellar houses over 17,000 bottles, managed by head sommelier Samy Sbiti. Furthermore, the hotel holds Three Michelin Keys.

For the festive season, pastry chef Jonathan Chapuy has created “La Télécabine de Rochebrune” yule log, which is gluten-free and features jasmine, sesame, and vanilla flavours. Priced at €149 for eight to ten people, it is available to order from December 21 to 31.
