Jordanian coffee is about to check into a hotel. IHG announced on 21 September 2026 that it had signed a franchise agreement with roaster Al Ameed Coffee to open a fifty-key property in Amman, Jordan’s first Noted Collection, with its first two floors devoted to coffee.

Fifty keys on the road to the airport
The agreement covers a fifty-room hotel on one of Amman’s main gateway corridors, the one linking the city to Queen Alia International Airport. Coffee will not be mere decoration: the first two floors will hold a coffee reserve and an experience centre, and the thread will run on through the guestrooms and public areas, according to the programme released by the group.
The chosen corridor is no accident: it is the one every arriving traveller crosses, and it is filling up fast, between new residential districts and commercial activity. At this stage neither the opening date, nor the exact address, nor the hotel’s trading name have been made public, nor the architect’s.

Al Ameed Coffee, a roaster since 1973
Al Ameed Coffee began in 1973 as a small roasting shop in Amman. The family house has become one of Jordan’s best-established coffee brands, present in more than thirty international markets, from Turkish and Arabic coffee to espresso and filter. “This hotel is a natural evolution of our story,” says Basel Daher, Managing Partner of Al Ameed Coffee, who sees it as the hospitality translation of what the house has built around the bean.
The group has already taken a first step into the experiential with the Al Ameed Coffee Experience, opened over the past two years on the airport road. It holds an in-room roaster, a specialty Turkish coffee corner, a barista bar, a kitchen, a machine store and even an automated drive-thru, open from 8am to 1am every day. The hotel will take that logic further and give it bedrooms.

Noted Collection, IHG’s 21st brand
Noted Collection was unveiled on 17 February 2026. It is IHG’s 21st brand and the eleventh created in as many years, designed to convert upscale and upper upscale independents that want to keep their name and character while plugging their commercial engine into the group’s machine. The pool is wide: IHG counts 2.3 million independent rooms in those segments worldwide, and is targeting more than 150 addresses under the brand within a decade.
In the brand line-up, Noted Collection sits in the premium segment, alongside Crowne Plaza, voco and Ruby, and complements the Vignette and Hotel Indigo collections. The group sums up its promise in three principles: houses chosen for their story and their design, moments conceived as an editorial take on the place, and hospitality built to start a conversation. The rollout begins in Europe, the Middle East, Asia and Africa.
Theobalds, Riyadh, Amman: three signings
Amman is the third address announced under the brand, and the second in the Middle East. The first was signed on 14 May 2026 in the United Kingdom: Theobalds Estate, a partly listed Hertfordshire estate set in 55 acres of parkland, 35 minutes from London Liverpool Street, which will join the collection after a full refurbishment, with a spa, a wellness centre and padel courts.
The second came on 11 August in Riyadh, with Cantonal Hotel Riyadh Noted Collection by IHG: 107 rooms in the Al Olaya business district, a conversion expected by the end of 2026. Three signings in seven months is the pace of a model that advances deal by deal.
Amman, a capital filling up again
Jordan remains a destination international hoteliers approach with caution, and the figures explain why it is becoming attractive again. Queen Alia International Airport handled 9.79 million passengers in 2025, a record, up 11.3 per cent, across 80,565 aircraft movements, which makes Amman one of the busiest gateways in the Levant.
Tourism itself slowed in the first half of 2026: 3.15 million visitors, down 4.4 per cent, with receipts off 5.3 per cent according to the central bank. The trend turned over the summer, with receipts up 25 per cent in July alone. IHG currently runs eight hotels in the kingdom under three brands, InterContinental, Crowne Plaza and Holiday Inn Resort; Noted Collection will be the fourth.
Our view
A fifty-key hotel built around a local coffee house is exactly the kind of project a collection of independents was invented for. Al Ameed Coffee brings what no global brand can manufacture, fifty years of cultural legitimacy and a venue already running a few metres away, while IHG brings distribution and the 160 million members of its loyalty programme. The balance is clean, and it puts the project on the right side of the line between a concept and a set.
Keep Amman in mind for a stop between Petra, the Dead Sea and Wadi Rum: the capital lacked a contemporary address with a genuine point of view, and this one will have one. We will go and see the result as soon as it opens, and tell you whether coffee carries the whole house or only its first two floors.
