Combining the Sanskrit words for “peace” and “water,” Amanvari rises at the precise location where the ocean, desert, and estuary meet, in the shadow of the Sierra de la Laguna mountains. Designed by Elastic Architects with initial contributions from Heah & Co., the resort unfolds as an architectural response to its environment, tracing a natural path from the entrance to the central lagoon and down to the beach. This dialogue between desert and water became a founding principle, as did the creation of spaces that frame the vastness of the sky and the sea on the horizon.

18 Casitas Overlooking the Water
True to Aman’s design DNA, the 18 standalone Casitas have been thoughtfully positioned along the water’s edge, some slightly elevated above the estuary, others closer to the shoreline. Spanning 82 sq m, each Casita features a generous terrace measuring up to 200 sq m, a 10-meter private heated pool, an outdoor shower, and a fireplace. The two-level Casitas offer panoramic views of the estuary, the Sea of Cortez, and the surrounding landscape.
A natural color palette blending wood and stone allows nature to express itself fully, while raw white concrete, hand-applied by master artisans, exemplifies Aman’s understated approach, deeply rooted in local craftsmanship.
Four Dining Venues, From Mexican Wood-Fired Cuisine to Japanese Omakase
The culinary offering celebrates both the bounty of seasonal Baja California produce and Aman’s global culinary vision. On the shoreline, Luma draws on Mexican coastal traditions and focuses on authentic open-air wood-fired cooking. The Lounge Bar and The Pool provide relaxed, all-day spaces showcasing ingredients sourced from farms and fisheries across Baja California Sur. The iconic Arva embodies Italian cuisine rooted in fresh, seasonal produce, while Sesui offers an authentic Japanese experience with a 10-seat omakase counter and an intimate dining room.
Aman’s First Contemporary Temazcal
The Aman Spa brings the brand’s wellness philosophy to Baja California, blending its holistic offering with Mexico’s ancestral healing rituals. At its heart lies a contemporary interpretation of the Temazcal, the traditional sweat lodge, a first of its kind for Aman. The offerings are complemented by two signature hydrotherapy facilities, a traditional banya, a hammam, six private treatment rooms, a 24-hour fitness center, a beauty salon with a head spa, and an open-air yoga pavilion.
