Casas del XVI, the hotel with 21 rooms spread across historic houses in the Ciudad Colonial of Santo Domingo, has joined IHG’s Vignette Collection. Awarded a Michelin Key in 2025, this hotel opened in 2014 retains its name and identity while becoming accessible via the IHG One Rewards loyalty programme, as formalised by the group on 29 September 2026.

Houses from the 16th to the 20th century
The hotel was created in 2014 through the restoration of residences in the first European city of the Americas. Its houses date from the 16th to the early 20th century, such as Casa de los Vitrales, built in 1912 by architect Antonín Nechodoma, which now houses the lobby and Bar 1912. Most feature their own swimming pool, and some can be rented entirely for a family or group of friends.
What joining IHG changes
With the Vignette Collection, the hotel retains its independent style while benefiting from IHG’s distribution and loyalty network. It adds a lobby bar, a fitness room, complimentary bicycles, in-room treatments, and a dining offering served directly within the houses.
