Hotel das Cataratas, A Belmond Hotel, is the only hotel on the Brazilian side located inside the Iguazu National Park, just steps from the falls; it features 187 rooms. In São Paulo, the Rosewood occupies a mid-20th-century former maternity hospital, complemented by a tower designed by Jean Nouvel and interiors by Philippe Starck, set amid some 10,000 indigenous trees. These are the only two Brazilian addresses at the very top of the selection.

Copacabana Palace, built in 1923 facing the beach, retains its Two Keys, as does Palácio Tangará in São Paulo. Awasi Santa Catarina, formerly Ponta dos Ganchos, rises from One to Two Keys: its 25 bungalows overlook an Atlantic forest cove, with the top categories featuring private pools. By comparison, Royal Mansour in Marrakech, Brown’s in London, and The Mark in New York also hold Two Keys.
