voco Nairobi Airport Suites opens in Kenya: 112 suites and a rooftop terrace, the first voco in East Africa

IHG opens the first voco in East Africa: the voco Nairobi Airport Suites, 112 suites on Mombasa Road, 8 km from Jomo Kenyatta International Airport. Announced on 25 September 2026, the hotel is already available for booking. It targets business travellers and long-stay guests, with suites equipped with a kitchen, a rooftop pool, and a free 24/7 shuttle to the airport.

An all-suite hotel by the airport

The hotel consists entirely of suites. Each has its own living area, dining space, equipped kitchenette, desk, balcony, and washing machine, a format designed for multi-day stays. The largest, the Mara Grand Suite, serves as the presidential suite, featuring a separate bathtub and a walk-in shower. IHG has not released sizes or rates outside of booking dates.

Three rooftop dining venues

Kilimanjaro, the main restaurant, serves international cuisine on the rooftop next to the pool, featuring an open kitchen. The Savannah Lounge serves cocktails and small plates at sunset, Cigar Haven welcomes cigar enthusiasts, and the ground-floor Malt & Mocha remains open 24/7. The hotel also offers four meeting rooms, totalling 623 m², including the 235 m² Mara Hall for 160 to 180 people.

Our take

The voco does not target luxury safari-goers but rather travellers passing through Nairobi, the gateway to East Africa. Its strength is the combination of an equipped suite and an airport shuttle, a rarity at this level of quality around Jomo Kenyatta. Nairobi National Park, the Giraffe Centre, and the Karen Blixen Museum remain within reach for an extended stopover.
