Le Westminster, Le Touquet’s brick landmark
Built in 1924 in pink brick and white stone, Le Westminster is the historic grand hotel of Le Touquet, rated 5 stars. The Barrière group had it renovated by interior designer Bruno Borrione; its 104 rooms and suites blend mahogany panelling and Prussian blue. Its restaurant Le Pavillon, run by chef William Elliott, holds one star in the Michelin Guide. La Table du West offers bistronomy, the Bar du West serves cocktails, and the Shiseido spa features an indoor pool, sauna, hammam and six treatment rooms.
Le Grand Hôtel, showcasing the Canche Bay
Set facing the Canche Bay, the Grand Hôtel Le Touquet features 132 rooms and suites in a long white building with red awnings. It is the go-to address for wellness breaks: the Spa d’Opale houses a large indoor pool under a white timber frame, opening onto the garden. Dining options include the chic bistro Le Baya and the restaurant Boko-Baya. Deluxe suites look out over the bay, where the tide reveals the sandbanks.
L’Atlantic, right on the water in Wimereux
The most upscale address in Wimereux, L’Atlantic occupies a 1920s building on the sea wall, run by the Delpierre family since 1995. Its 21 rooms and 2 suites all face the sea, most with a balcony or terrace above the beach. The restaurant, open all day, serves seafood, oysters and home-smoked salmon, with a cellar of over 200 appellations. A wellness area with a hammam and sauna completes the property. The hotel closes in February.
La Matelote, the seafood table in Boulogne
Facing Nausicaá, about ten minutes from Wimereux, La Matelote is first and foremost a great fish and seafood restaurant, run by Tony Lestienne for forty years and selected in the Michelin Guide. Its glass-enclosed terrace looks out over the seafront. The 35 rooms benefit from a free relaxation area reserved for guests, with a pool, jacuzzi, sauna and hammam.
Le Château de Montreuil, the charm of the ramparts
Inland, at the foot of the ramparts of Montreuil-sur-Mer, this 1930s house built by the Fould-Springer family has 18 rooms, divided between the main building, the outbuildings and a cottage. Its English garden is the true luxury of the address, with its rose pergola and topiary. The rotunda dining room opens onto the park. A charming stopover rather than a seaside hotel, about forty minutes from the beaches.
Wimereux, the rising resort
Wimereux, just north of Boulogne-sur-Mer, was ranked sixth among the ten trendiest French destinations for summer 2026 published by Airbnb in May, with searches up 42% in the first quarter. The resort owes this revival to its sea wall lined with Belle Époque villas, such as the timber-framed Villa La Frégate, and its proximity to Cap Gris-Nez. In the Hauts-de-France region, overnight stays from April to September 2025 rose by 6.7% according to Insee, with those of foreign guests up by 12.9%.
