Four Seasons will open its first resort in the Dominican Republic in 2027, the Four Seasons Resort and Residences Dominican Republic at Tropicalia, on Playa Esmeralda, near Miches. The group appointed French general manager Hervé Fucho on 29 September 2026 to oversee a 95-room-and-suite estate with 25 residences designed by Brazilian architect Isay Weinfeld.

A tropical modernism signed Weinfeld
The resort stretches across 24 hectares facing Samaná Bay, as part of the Tropicalia project developed by Cisneros Real Estate, the estate owner; Four Seasons will act as the operator. Isay Weinfeld designed the architecture and interiors in a style he describes as tropical modernism, with Gensler as executive architect and EDSA for the master plan and gardens. Construction is entrusted to Bouygues Construction, and the project is targeting LEED environmental certification.
Beach, spa and golf by Tom Doak
The programme presented by Four Seasons includes a beach grill, a ceviche bar, a rum bar, a spa, a yoga pavilion and a children’s club. A golf course designed by Tom Doak will complete the estate, though it will open after the resort. The 25 three- and four-bedroom residences will be sold with hotel services. Hervé Fucho, from the kitchen to management
Born in Angoulême, Hervé Fucho has spent nearly thirty years with Four Seasons. He began as an executive chef, notably in Punta Mita and Hong Kong, before moving into operations, culminating in his most recent position as resort manager at Four Seasons Resort Tamarindo in Costa Rica, where he helped establish a sustainable farm. He takes the helm of a resort that the group presents as its first address in the country.
