When reservations opened in June 2026, Hyatt’s system offered first nights from 1 June 2027. The date has now been moved forward to 1 April 2027, according to information shared by the group in October. The resort will be the first Hyatt hotel in Turks and Caicos and the first Andaz in the Caribbean, the group’s upscale lifestyle brand.

Hyatt unveiled the project in September 2018, with an opening targeted for 2021. The timeline then slipped to 2025, to early 2026 and then to June 2027. The developer, Vista Development, a subsidiary of Pronet Capital, entrusted the main construction to BYD TCI Construction and celebrated the topping out in August 2024. The architecture is by RAD Architecture and the interiors by Francisco Jove of the studio Modus Operandi, who has already worked on Andaz Mayakoba and Andaz Costa Rica.

The estate of more than 5.5 acres, about 2.2 hectares, will bring together two seven-storey buildings: the hotel, with 59 rooms and suites, and the residences, all with sea views according to the developer. The 73 residences range from a 580 sq ft studio, about 54 m², to a four-bedroom penthouse of 6,411 sq ft including terraces, close to 596 m². The penthouses have a roof terrace with a summer kitchen and private pool, and owners will be able to place their home in the hotel’s rental programme.

Tamarà will be the all-day restaurant, serving bistro cooking with Caribbean influences. Palmette will combine café, bodega and grocery, while Baie will serve poolside as a restaurant, bar and lounge in one. The developer also promises a lobby bar facing the sunset and a rooftop venue with panoramic views over the bay.

What will the Runa spa offer?

The Runa spa will extend both indoors and outdoors, with a sauna and cold plunge. The resort will add a fitness room, a garden yoga pavilion, tennis and pickleball courts, pools with cabanas and a kids’ club. From the beach, guests will be able to head out paddleboarding, sailing or snorkelling on Bight Reef, and the developer will donate 1% of the proceeds from each residence in its Reef Collection to the Turks and Caicos Reef Fund, which protects the coral reefs.

The resort occupies the western end of Grace Bay Beach, in The Bight district, a short walk from Bight Reef. Hyatt is thus continuing its expansion in the region after the Grand Hyatt Grand Cayman, on Seven Mile Beach.
