The heart of the hotel is a casona, the traditional grand manor house of Corrientes province, built in 1868. Its adobe walls, made of sun-dried mud bricks, and high ceilings still house several of the guest rooms.

Surrounding it, 14 hectares of parkland designed by the studio of landscape architect Carlos Thays stretch down to the Paraná. The estate also includes a nursery for native plant species and an organic kitchen garden that supplies the restaurant.

All 13 rooms offer views over the Paraná River. Inside the casona, four Casco rooms measuring at least 35 sq m preserve their original adobe walls and soaring ceilings, featuring a king-size bed and a small lounge area suitable for an extra bed. The Casco Family Room is arranged over two levels, complete with a terrace and balcony: a bedroom and living space on the ground floor, and a second lounge upstairs that can accommodate two extra beds and a cot.

The eight 60 sq m Deluxe rooms showcase modern architecture, each boasting a private terrace, an outdoor shower, a dressing room and a king-size bed.

The Esteros del Iberá, or Iberá Wetlands, stretch vast across Corrientes province. Visitors can encounter caimans, capybaras, marsh deer and macaws, ranging from giant rodents to vibrant, large parrots. While the hotel sits on the riverbank at the boundary of the marshlands rather than inside the park itself, it escorts guests directly into the wild.

The four to five hour safari into Iberá National Park takes place at Portal Cambyretá, one of the main access gates to the park, located in a sector dedicated to the reintroduction of endangered species.

Laguna Valle by 4×4, the Paraná by boat

Puerto Valle enjoys exclusive access to Laguna Valle, a private lagoon explored via a four to five hour 4×4 expedition through the wetlands. Departing from the private pontoon, a two-hour boat trip navigates the channels and islands of the Paraná; guests can also set off by kayak for one to three hours.

The itinerary also includes two-hour horseback rides along the riverbank, as well as tours of the native tree nursery and organic garden. As optional extras, the hotel arranges excursions to the Jesuit ruins of San Ignacio Miní, the Yacyretá Dam, fly-fishing trips, and visits to yerba mate plantations and the Tea Route in the neighboring province of Misiones.

Stays operate on an all-inclusive basis: meals, excursions and bilingual guides are dedicated exclusively to hotel guests. The restaurant serves authentic regional cuisine from Corrientes: classic asado, the Argentinian barbecue cooked beneath the quincho (a traditional open-air shelter), local river fish, chipá (cheese bread rolls), and house-made pastries.

The bar is outdoors. While there is no full spa, guests can enjoy an outdoor swimming pool facing the river alongside bespoke massage treatments.

The first eco-certified hotel in Corrientes

Puerto Valle stands as the first and only hotel in Corrientes certified by Hoteles Más Verdes (“Greener Hotels”), the sustainability label awarded by the Association of Tourist Hotels of Argentina (AHT).

Since July 2026, the property has also been a member of Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH), the prestigious collection of boutique independent hotels, which includes properties in France such as Castel Beau Site and Le Vieux Castillon. In the announcement released by the hotel, Richard Hyde, Chief Operating Officer at SLH, praised “an estancia of just 13 rooms”, describing it as authentic, characterful, and ideal for exploring the pristine nature, wildlife and ecosystems of northern Argentina.
