A major transaction in the capital
The Parisian property owned by the Derby Hotels group has officially changed hands following a major transaction. Pontegadea, Amancio Ortega’s investment firm, has acquired the Banke Opéra for the sum of €97 million. This marks the seventh real estate transaction in France conducted by the Inditex founder’s family office, reinforcing its strategy of investing in exceptional assets in the heart of Paris.
A transformed banking monument
Built at the turn of the 20th century, the building housed a major banking institution prior to its initial hotel conversion in 2009. The building’s architecture is defined by a monumental glass roof and a grand atrium preserved through successive renovations. This exceptional historical setting will serve as the backdrop for the property’s ultra-luxury repositioning.
The Radisson Collection experience
It is under the Radisson group’s most exclusive brand that the hotel embarks on this new chapter in its history in the third quarter of 2026. The 90 rooms have undergone a complete redesign, complemented by the creation of an immersive spa inside the former bank vault. Dedicated spaces for business events and receptions complete this hospitality project.
A coveted address in the 9th arrondissement
Located on Rue de La Fayette, the hotel enjoys a strategic geographical position on the Right Bank. The establishment benefits from immediate access to the Opéra Garnier as well as the iconic department stores. This prime location guarantees continuous appeal for business travellers and leisure guests alike.
