Nestled between salt marshes and the Atlantic Ocean, the Thalazur Carnac hotel marks a masterful transformation in 2025. After eighteen months of work, this legendary Breton thalassotherapy address, founded in 1978 and part of the Thalazur collection since 2018, unveils a completely reimagined look. The result: a comprehensive renovation of the 4-star hotel, the residence, the seminar spaces, and the restaurant, soon to be followed by the reopening of the thalassotherapy centre and spa in November.

This major transformation, led by Hively Hospitality (SCIH group), marks a new era for this iconic Carnac address, now at the forefront of modern comfort and sustainable development.

The contemporary and warm “Thalazur Carnac” hotel

Anchored in an exceptional 15-hectare natural site, Thalazur Carnac asserts itself as a “holiday home” with a contemporary aesthetic, designed to combine conviviality, light, and nature. The agency CB Architectes, in collaboration with designer Nicolas Thermed, has restored breath and fluidity to the whole: wide openings onto the salt marshes, luminous perspectives, noble materials, and natural textures.

Driftwood, stone, mineral tones, and shades of the famous Breton Glaz infuse the atmosphere with a soothing elegance. At the heart of the lobby, a sumptuous wooden bar sculpted by Wonderwall Studios echoes the hull of an old boat, while a haute couture chandelier by Art et Floritude radiates the space with soft light.

“In Carnac, we wanted to create a lively and warm living space, connected to Brittany and its salt marshes,” confides Maylis Rollin Tournier, Purchasing & Design Director at Hively Hospitality.

200 Rooms and residences in the new Thalazur Carnac hotel

The 200 rooms and suites of the new hotel · all featuring balconies or terraces · offer a refined world in pastel and natural tones. On the sea side, the beige and blue colours of the Glaz compose a luminous cocoon. On the salt marsh side, the pink and beige walls evoke jute fibre and salt bags.

A hotel residence with 34 units, designed for family or group stays, completes the offer, with studios and apartments opening onto nature. An experience of independence and serenity, just a stone’s throw from the Carnac alignments and the Gulf of Morbihan.

A reinvented thalassotherapy institute and spa

It was in November 2025 that Thalazur Carnac reopened its 4,500 m² thalasso & spa institute, the jewel of this transformation. From the reception to the relaxation room, everything has been recreated to offer a fluid experience, bathed in natural light.

The 2,500 m² Marine Spa houses indoor and outdoor pools, a hammam, a sauna, a lap pool, and an open-air jacuzzi. The well-being spa, intimate and hushed, offers 18 treatment rooms, including one duo room with a private hammam and terrace.

On the programme: Marine Garden Ritual signature treatments, world massages, Aguasophro (aquatic sophrology) sessions, and technological innovations like LPG Cellu M6 Infinity or Stendo, dedicated to well-being and health.

We started from scratch, everything has been redone. The goal: to offer a warm, soothing space that respects nature.
