320 million dollars, Gencom’s third deal in New York

Sold by Westbrook Partners, the asset has changed hands for an officially undisclosed amount, but estimated at 320 million dollars by several market sources. The transaction was financed by a 235 million dollar loan from Banco Inbursa, the Mexican lender taking over the debt initially held by KeyBank. This is Gencom’s third New York acquisition in sixteen months, following the Thompson Central Park (2024, $308M) and the InterContinental New York Times Square (December 2025, $230M in joint venture).

Ritz-Carlton, the group’s favourite brand

With this acquisition, Gencom marks its eleventh project under the Ritz-Carlton brand, confirming a strategy clearly focused on ultra-luxury and trophy assets. In a cycle where large transactions exceeding $250M are multiplying, the Florida-based investor is betting on the resilience of the New York high-end segment, boosted by the return of international clientele and the prospect of the 2026 World Cup.

Our view

The transaction · announced as early as February 2026 · is an excellent indicator of the dynamics of luxury hotels: concentration of trophy assets in the hands of specialised investors, recourse to international financing, and a bet on New York ahead of an exceptional sporting year. For La Revue des Hôtels, Gencom is establishing itself as one of the most aggressive consolidators in the American high-end market · a name to watch closely in the coming months.
