The Radisson Blu Golf du Verger resort will open near Lyon in 2029, with 148 rooms and an 800 m² spa

Radisson Hotel Group announced on 15 October 2026 the signing of the Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Lyon Golf du Verger, in Saint-Symphorien-d’Ozon, south of Lyon. This golf resort will open in 2029 with 148 rooms, an 800 m² spa and two courses already in play, some thirty minutes from central Lyon and the airport.

Radisson signs in Saint-Symphorien-d’Ozon

Radisson has signed a branding and management agreement: the group will lend its name to the resort and run it, without owning it; the owner is not named in the announcement. The hotel will form part of a mixed-use development set around the two courses of Golf du Verger, operated by SARL Golf du Verger.

For Valérie Schuermans, Director of Development for Western Europe at Radisson Hotel Group, this is “an existing site with real potential”, to which the group wants to “give a second life”. She sees it as an address suited as much to corporate meetings during the week as to family golf weekends. Radisson has not yet released any images of the future resort: the photos in this article show the current golf course.

148 rooms, including two presidential suites

The resort will have 148 rooms, including 16 junior suites and two presidential suites. Radisson has not yet disclosed room sizes, interior design or the name of the architect. Nor does the announcement mention a star rating.

A 2,000 m² terrace and a rooftop bar

On the dining side, plans include a lobby bar, an all-day restaurant and a 2,000 m² terrace. A rooftop bar will complete the offer. The names of the restaurant and the chef have not yet been revealed. The club already has a restaurant open seven days a week, with a terrace over the greens.

What will the 800 m² spa offer?

Wellness will be one of the resort’s cornerstones: an 800 m² spa with indoor and outdoor pools, plus a fitness and yoga area. An 18- and 9-hole golf club founded in 1977

The resort will build on a golf club that is already up and running. Golf de Lyon Verger was founded in 1977 by Jacques de Préneuf, on an orchard he had owned since 1960. It brings together two separate courses, the Verger (18 holes) and the Pré9 (9 holes), as well as two practice areas.

1,150 m² for corporate seminars

The resort will also target business travellers, with 1,150 m² of flexible space for meetings and events, both indoors and outdoors. Radisson presents the project as a step in its urban resort strategy in Europe, alongside the Radisson Collection The National Hotel in Brussels, the Radisson Blu Hotel Florence, the Radisson Hotel Cannes and the Radisson Hotel Rueil-Malmaison, currently under renovation.
