Mountain golf has its autumn season highlight. From 3 to 5 September 2026, Four Seasons Resort Megève welcomed the fifth edition of its Pro-Am at Golf du Mont d’Arbois, the historic course of the Edmond de Rothschild estate overlooking the village. Three months after being awarded the Palace distinction, the resort brought together 92 players, both professionals and amateurs, on a par 72 course set at 1,320 metres altitude between Mont Joly and the Aravis mountain range.

23 teams and 92 players on the Mont d’Arbois par 72 course
The format is that of a classic Pro-Am: each professional takes three amateurs, and the teams play two rounds of stroke play with a 9 am shotgun start. Organised with the Promogolf agency, the 2026 edition was fully booked, featuring 23 teams and 92 players from all over France and neighbouring Switzerland. Between the two rounds, lunch was served at Le Hibou d’Arbois, the golf course restaurant, followed by a gala evening and prize-giving at L’Idéal 1850, the resort’s altitude restaurant.

The standard of play lived up to expectations right down to the final hole. In the gross standings, the team led by professional Nicolas Wrona, accompanied by Houssine Aissaoui, Frédéric Blanluet and Jean-Louis Piprel, won with a total of 266 strokes. In the net standings, victory went to Maxime Radureau’s team, with Christophe Meyer, Arnaud Bodier and Christophe Schalk, posting a score of 202 strokes. Regulars on the event’s podiums, Wrona’s team confirmed the consistency of Rhône-Alpes professionals on this demanding course, where consistent slopes and altitude require precise iron play.

Raphaël Jacquelin and his new academy
The patron of this edition is a prominent figure in French golf. Raphaël Jacquelin, four-time winner on the European Tour, hosted a clinic on Friday afternoon for players and guests, before presenting the Raphaël Jacquelin Academy, his new teaching facility established at Mont d’Arbois featuring Golfzon simulation technology and the Leadbetter method. The stated ambition is to make Megève a coaching hub open to all levels, from beginners to skilled players, just a few steps from the hotel.
A century-old course, the oldest mountain golf destination
Golf du Mont d’Arbois was established in the 1920s at the initiative of Noémie de Rothschild, who wanted to turn the estate into a family holiday destination. Redesigned by British champion Henry Cotton, the par 72 course is now the oldest mountain golf course, maintained like a French formal garden with views stretching from Mont Joly to the Aravis. It is open from mid-May to autumn and remains the property of Edmond de Rothschild Heritage, which entrusted the neighbouring hotel to Four Seasons.
A palace hotel since 2 June 2026
The Pro-Am arrives during a stellar year for the resort. On 2 June 2026, Atout France awarded Four Seasons Resort Megève the Palace distinction, held by only around thirty properties in France. The 55-key hotel thus joins George V in Paris and Grand-Hôtel du Cap-Ferrat, the other two Four Seasons palaces in the country, complementing this recognition with three Michelin Keys. Joachim Jacob, its general manager, sees it as recognition of “an exceptional place, but also of the people and passion that bring it to life”. The spa, one of the largest in the region, was also expanded this summer with an outdoor jacuzzi and a mixed sauna overlooking the mountains.
Our perspective
A 92-player Pro-Am is not a mass-market event, and that is precisely its strength. In five editions, Four Seasons Resort Megève has turned this tournament into the natural extension of its summer season, combining morning golf, clubhouse lunches and high-altitude dinners. The arrival of the Raphaël Jacquelin Academy gives the estate what it was still missing: a reason to come and play at Mont d’Arbois outside of competition. For a mountain palace hotel whose winter season remains its flagship, this is the best way to fill September.
