On 7 July 2026, Lopesan Hotel Group welcomed its first guests to three resorts opening simultaneously in Punta Cana: the 554-room Caoba Lagoon, the adults-only Lopesan Serenity Bay (239 rooms) and the family-oriented Lopesan Splash Cove (242 rooms). The group thus adds more than 1,000 rooms to its Dominican portfolio, for a total investment of over 350 million dollars.

The opening created around 700 jobs, with more than 1,100 expected at full capacity. The complex is also targeting meetings and conferences: the Lopesan Convention Center hosts more than 2,000 delegates across 16 rooms.

The lagoon pool stretches over 127 metres and 5,250 m², lined with sun loungers and parasols. Ten waterfalls bring it to life, in a setting inspired by cenotes, the natural pools carved into rock, which gives the resort its visual identity.

The official website lists eight pools in total: the main lagoon, three cenotes with waterfalls, the beach club pool, a wave pool and two water parks, including the Aquatica Water Park and its slides. Families will find plenty to keep children busy; couples seeking peace and quiet should look instead to the adults-only Serenity Bay.

The rooms are mostly junior suites of around 35 m², extended by a 13 to 14 m² balcony or terrace. They come with tropical garden views, water park views or swim-up access straight into the pool, or as connecting or accessible rooms; the one-bedroom suites add a living room. Not all of them overlook the lagoon, then, which is worth checking when booking. The group has only released renderings of the rooms.

The resort announces eight restaurants and ten bars. Its dining page lists Thai, which cooks over a charcoal grill, Lima for Nikkei cuisine, Indra (Indian), Kahlo (Mexican), Sotto Terra (Italian), Brassa Nova, an adults-only Brazilian rodizio, La Bohème (French) and Yolo, in addition to the Pavilion international buffet.

The all-inclusive package covers buffet meals, themed restaurants by reservation and drinks from national and international brands; some premium services remain extra. Among the bars, the Aura Bar stands out for its jungle-patterned vertical garden spanning more than 600 m².

Om Spa and The Boulevard at Costa Bávaro

Two facilities often credited to the Caoba Lagoon actually belong to the neighbouring Lopesan Costa Bávaro. Guests have access to its Om Spa, more than 2,900 m² devoted to wellness, and to The Boulevard, a promenade of over 30,000 m² of shops and restaurants, with a casino and an 820-seat theatre.
