Five Christmas pastries by Anne Coruble

On the sweet side, Anne Coruble lines up five creations. A tatin-style apple with a crisp swirl and ice cider, a rich dessert cider; a marbled vanilla and chocolate charlotte; a roasted chestnut with yoghurt and tangy black fruit; a kougelhopf, the ring-shaped Alsatian brioche, here in a flaky version with notes of sweet almond; and finally a Liège waffle with pearl sugar and whipped cream.
None of these pastries featured on the 2025 Christmas menu, which was built around a frosted cinnamon roll, a lemon meringue tart and a mochi. The palace’s press release, dated 15 October 2026, presents this afternoon treat as a moment to share with family or friends, young and old alike.
Savoury bites: Oscietra caviar and foie gras
The savoury side comes down to three bites. A beetroot pressé with a smoked lactic, a smoky dairy note, and Oscietra caviar; a foie gras brioche with spiced chutney; a bouquet prawn with citrus, lifted by an aniseed condiment.
€95 without drinks, €85 with: the real gap

Comparing it with the Lobby’s usual menu calls for a little arithmetic. The classic afternoon tea costs €85 per person, hot drinks and water included. There is also a Prestige version at €105, with a flute of Deutz Peninsula champagne or the cocktail of the month, and a Gourmand version at €105, with one extra pastry.
The Christmas edition starts at €95, but excluding drinks: €10 more, without the tea. The press release quotes a “from” price without detailing what the drinks cost, so ask when you book. The entry price is the same as in 2025. To see how it compares with other addresses, read our comparison of Paris palace afternoon teas in 2026.
Which days to book before 30 December?
The Christmas Tea Time is served 26 days out of 30: there is no service on Sundays 6, 13 and 20 December, when the Lobby hosts its brunch, nor on Friday 25 December. It ends on 30 December. Times for the Christmas edition have not been specified; the usual afternoon tea is served from 3pm to 6pm, Monday to Saturday.
Bookings are taken on +33 1 58 12 67 72 or by email at lobbyppr@peninsula.com; the hotel switchboard answers on +33 1 58 12 28 88. The dress code is smart casual.
Under the Lobby chandeliers, Avenue Kléber

The Lobby occupies the palace’s ground floor, at 19 Avenue Kléber, near the Arc de Triomphe: palm trees, crystal chandeliers and restored gilded mouldings. It is open daily from 7am to 10.30pm and is accessible to guests with disabilities. The Peninsula Paris, opened in 2014, has 200 rooms including 93 suites; it belongs to a joint venture between Katara Hospitality and Hong Kong’s HSH group, parent company of the Peninsula hotels.
A takeaway Yule log and Christmas Eve at €285
The afternoon tea is not the palace’s only festive offer. The “L’Épi de Blé” Yule log, created by Anne Coruble with the house of Chaumet, costs €120 for eight, available to pre-order from 1 December and to collect from 21 to 31 December: we have presented it in detail. For comparison, here are the 2026 Christmas Yule logs of the Paris palaces.
On 24 December, from 7pm, the Lobby serves a Christmas Eve dinner by executive chef David Bizet, at €285 per person excluding drinks: oyster, foie gras, turbot with Oscietra caviar, poultry with black truffle and a tangy Jardin dessert.
