This listed 18th-century chateau reigns over nearly 40 hectares and a 500-metre pond, with a farm, a kitchen garden and bicycles lent to young and old alike. Twenty minutes away, Chambord gives the final performances of its equestrian show from 17 October to 1 November, right during the holidays.

The Disney Halloween Festival runs until 1 November 2026: carved pumpkins, “Mickey’s Halloween Celebration” cavalcade, Disney Villains, Jack Skellington and Sally. On 31 October, guests come in costume, with extended hours. The five-star hotel has its own dedicated park entrance and access to Extra Magic Time in the morning.

The Royal Kids Club provides free childcare for 4 to 11-year-olds, for a maximum of two hours per day, My Royal Dream transforms children into princesses or princes, and you can lunch with Mickey and Minnie at the Royal Banquet. Only downside: as of 5 October, the Disneyland Hotel is fully booked for the nights of 21, 24 and 31 October. For Halloween, Disney Newport Bay Club remains bookable on 24 October, from €1,446.90 for two with one night, breakfast and 2-day 2-park tickets; outside holidays, the Disneyland Hotel starts again at €1,591.40 for two, night of 18 November including tickets.

Between Aix-en-Provence and the Luberon, the Villa is hidden within the Château La Coste wine estate, a trail of over 40 works (Louise Bourgeois, Calder, Tadao Ando, Frank Gehry) through vineyards and woods. The GUGGI exhibition runs until 1 November, and the tour of the cellars and art is included in the stay.

Ten of the 31 suites have a private heated pool facing the Luberon, to be aimed for in late October rather than the communal pool, announced for the summer season. On 24 October, the Villa Pool Suite was €2,100 per night for two, breakfast included; on the 31st, the Pavilion Suite started at €1,200.

Around a 13th-century chateau stretch 1,000 hectares of forests, meadows and ponds: rowing boats, fishing, horse riding. On rainy days, children head up to the Attic, with costumes and table football, while parents go down to the Thermal Baths in the vaulted cellars, with indoor pool and hammams.

Families take a cottage at the Métairie, with kitchen, private garden and stone fireplace. In the middle of the Château Smith Haut Lafitte vineyards, this Palace of 62 rooms and suites keeps its water warm all year round: the heated indoor pool, under a greenhouse, is open from 8:00 am to 8:00 pm, also to children, when the outdoor pool closes at the end of October. The Forest of the Senses adds 8 hectares of contemporary art.

On Saturday 24 October, head sommelier Aurélien Farrouil gives an introduction to oenology (€75), and La Grand’Vigne has two Michelin stars. On 31 October, the Comfort room was €530 per night for two, room only; on the 24th, only the annex of Château Le Thil, 1.5 km away, remained available for the night, at €470.

In a 19th-century residence 8 km from Sarlat, the 400 m² Nuxe spa is open every day, with a heated sensory pool; one hour is offered for each room booked directly. The Autumn offer, valid until 17 December, takes 10% off the room price and adds half-board and tea time.

Outside, Sarlat markets with walnuts and porcini mushrooms, barge trips on the Dordogne, Eyrignac Gardens and electric bikes for the whole family. On 24 October, the Deluxe Terrace was €270 per night for two, room only and prepaid, or €480 with the Autumn offer. Our test of Domaine de Rochebois details the house.

  • 🗓️ All Saints’ Day holidays · zones A, B and C together, from Saturday 17 October to Monday 2 November 2026, the day classes resume.
  • 📅 The 1 November long weekend · All Saints’ Day falls on a Sunday, with no extra bank holiday; the All Saints’ weekend of 31 October closes the holidays and is often sold as a two-night stay.
  • ⏳ Book early · as of 5 October, the night of 24 October was fully booked at La Borde, Le Barn and Royal Champagne. Le Barn offers a €50 restaurant or spa credit for early bookings made before 19 October.
  • 🚫 What closes · outdoor pools (end of October at Sources de Caudalie, summer only for the communal pool at Villa La Coste); at Domaine des Étangs, the Dyades restaurant from 11 October and the entire estate on 1 November.
