After several years of market restructuring (acquisitions, heritage conversions, the rise of “lifestyle” and wellness offerings), 2026 promises to be a pivotal year for luxury hospitality in France. Between international brands accelerating their presence, luxury houses entering the accommodation sector, and the conversion of iconic buildings, high-end supply is also renewing itself outside of Paris, the Côte d’Azur, airport hubs, and nature destinations. This article gathers, as comprehensively as possible at this stage, the luxury openings and projects expected in 2026, including location, positioning, known technical details, announced dates, and estimated price ranges.

Note: Published dates and characteristics may change (phasing, postponement). Price estimates are indicative.

Côte d’Azur & Provence:

The Radisson Resort Cannes · La Bocca

Location: La Bocca beach, Cannes (sea access, close to the Croisette by car).

Type: 4–5 star seaside resort (approx. ~100 rooms according to press release). Outdoor pool, landscaped garden, direct beach access.

Announced opening date: 2026.

Estimated prices: €300–€900 / night depending on season and category (Cannes high season / events like the Cannes Film Festival: higher rates).

Why follow: strengthening of the high-end “beach + city” offering in Cannes · strong potential for international and event-based clientele.

The Garavan Hotel, Menton

Location: Garavan, commune of Menton (Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur) · seafront, high-end position.

Type & capacity: 5-star hotel with approximately 100 rooms with two pools, spa, two restaurants, ~400 m² rooftop with event terrace, and luxury boutiques.

Announced opening date: early 2026 (the developer indicates an opening scheduled for “early 2026” after delays).

Estimated prices: not explicitly announced · but given the location, 5-star standing, and amenities (spa, rooftop, restaurants), we can estimate rates of €400-€800+ / night in high season.

Why it is notable: a high-standing hotel in a highly sought-after location (Menton), with premium services (spa, rooftop).

The Riviera Hotel · Vignette Collection (Théoule‑sur‑Mer)

Location: Théoule-sur-Mer, on the Côte d’Azur (between Cannes and Saint-Raphaël), nestled on a spectacular natural site overlooking the Mediterranean. The hotel will be located on a private coastal property offering direct access to the sea, near the Estérel massif and the coves of the Corniche d’Or, an exceptional location on the French Riviera.

Type & capacity: 5-star hotel operated by IHG Hotels & Resorts under its high-end brand Vignette Collection, a brand dedicated to character hotels rooted in their local area.

The project includes approximately 80 to 100 rooms and suites, a full spa, several infinity pools, two gourmet restaurants (including one focused on sustainable Mediterranean cuisine), a panoramic bar, and an integrated wellness centre offering yoga, marine treatments, and a fitness area.
Water activities (sailing, paddleboarding, diving) and exclusive local experiences will also be offered.

Announced opening date: horizon 2026. Works are currently in the preparatory phase, with delivery expected for the 2026 summer season.

Estimated prices: rates have not yet been communicated, but the “luxury boutique-resort” positioning by the sea suggests prices of €450 to €900 per night in high season, or even more for sea-view suites with terraces.

Why it is notable: this will be the first Vignette Collection address on the Côte d’Azur, embodying responsible and experiential luxury according to IHG. Théoule-sur-Mer, a small, confidential seaside resort, previously lacked an international 5-star establishment · the project should therefore reposition the destination on the map of high-end tourism.
The announced design promises a contemporary Mediterranean style, combining discreet elegance, natural materials, and panoramic sea views.

Loire Valley

The Six Senses · Six Senses Loire Valley (Domaine Les Bordes)

  • Location: Domaine Les Bordes, Sologne / Loire Valley (very extensive site · approximately 566 ha).
  • Type: Ultra-luxury resort focused on sustainability and wellness (Six Senses). Project includes a hotel with ~50–52 keys, a major spa (~1,600 m² / 18,000 ft² announced), restaurants, and high-end private residences.
  • Announced opening date: press releases have mentioned 2026 as the opening horizon for the first phases; possible phasing for residences and villas.
  • Estimated prices: €700–€1,800 / night (rooms and suites); villas & residences on request (ultra-luxury market, second home / private guest segment).
  • Why follow: an improbable combination of nature (wildlife, forest), sustainable ultra-luxury, and Six Senses expertise · a project that could create a new premium “refuge” in the provinces.

Pyrénées-Atlantiques

The 5-star hotel on the seafront in Hendaye

Note: still few precise details (brand, operator, number of rooms).

Location: Hendaye, Atlantic coast (Pyrénées-Atlantiques).

Type: 5-star hotel project on the seafront.

Announced opening date: opening targeted for late 2026.

Estimated prices: €300-€600+ / night depending on season.

Why it is interesting: new luxury address on the Atlantic coast, an area less saturated than the Mediterranean.

Paris & Île-de-France:

For all hotels in Paris and the Île-de-France region, a dedicated article is available here: https://larevuedeshotels.com/les-nouveaux-hotels-de-luxe-qui-vont-ouvrir-a-paris-en-2026

Conclusion:

These addresses confirm that the opening of luxury hotels in 2026 is not limited to Paris or the very mainstream Côte d’Azur, but also extends to coastlines (Atlantic, Riviera) and boutique formats. This opens up great possibilities for travellers seeking “luxury + calm + seaside” outside of major hubs.
