The Falkensteiner Resort Lake Garda was officially inaugurated on 25 September 2026 in Salò, on the Brescia shore of Lake Garda: a five-star hotel with 85 rooms and suites built on the former Tavina industrial site, representing a project worth around 150 million euros. Open to guests since July, it has been designed by architect Matteo Thun and is complemented by 174 apartments sold as branded residences.

An industrial brownfield transformed into a resort
The resort occupies the former site of Tavina, a mineral water company on the edge of Salò. The Austrian group FMTG has invested approximately 150 million euros here, alongside co-owners Robert König and Albert Kerbl. Matteo Thun & Partners designed the architecture and interiors, while Portuguese landscape architect João Nunes and the PROAP agency created the gardens. The first phase, comprising the hotel and the initial apartments, is now complete; the second is scheduled for completion in summer 2027, ahead of four villas with dates yet to be confirmed.
A 5,500 m² spa
This is the heart of the project. The Acquapura SPA spans 5,500 m², featuring a Family SPA and an adults-only Rooftop SPA, complete with panoramic saunas. Families can also enjoy Falkyland, a 1,500 m² children’s club. The official website lists five indoor and outdoor pools.
Three dining venues, including a House of Negroni
On the top floor, Artigiani serves Northern Italian cuisine overlooking the bay of Salò and Monte Baldo. HOKU, located at the Beach Club, blends Italian cuisine with Japanese influences. On the rooftop, the group is introducing the world’s first House of Negroni, a bar dedicated to the Italian cocktail, with interiors designed by the Vudafieri Saverino studio. Our perspective
The western shore of Lake Garda already boasts some fine addresses, but few resorts of this scale with a spa of this caliber. Falkensteiner is bringing its alpine recipe of wellness and family hospitality to an Italian lake, financing part of the project through the sale of residences. With prices starting at €495, it positions itself at the upper end of the local market.
