The Best Ski-In Ski-Out Hotels in the Alps for 2026-2027: Ten Slopeside Addresses

This is the one address on the list our editors have stayed in and scored, which is why it opens the guide. The resort sits on a plateau at the top of the Gerlitzen Alpe in Carinthia, at 1,769 m, and its own site states a location directly on the ski slope. The area holds 53 km of groomed runs, 12 km of natural ski routes and 21 lifts, including a heated-seat chairlift whose base station is a few metres below the hotel. The ski school and the rental shop are inside the resort itself.

On the wellbeing side the Feuerberg keeps 11 saunas and 18 panoramic relaxation rooms, including a Konzertsauna with an 8 metre window where the infusion rituals are set to music. The outdoor pools stay heated all year, swimming under snowfall included, and half board is included in every stay. Published rates start at €253 a night, checked on 20 September 2026. This is the address that settles the ski-in ski-out argument. Aman Le Mélézin stands directly on the Bellecôte piste, so the first run of the day begins at the door and the last one ends there. The house keeps 28 rooms, suites and apartments, which is small for Courchevel 1850 and is precisely the point: the lift queue outside is busier than the lobby inside.

Two full floors are given over to wellbeing, with a swimming pool, hydrotherapy, a sauna, a steam room, treatment rooms and a fitness space. Dining runs Japanese, between Yakiniku on the terrace and Akari indoors. The winter season has a confirmed date: the hotel reopens on 10 December 2026, which makes it one of the earliest openings on this list.

If Aman is the discreet one, Airelles is the theatrical one: a painted Austro-Hungarian façade dropped into the Jardin Alpin, 44 rooms and suites, and staff in period costume. The hotel opens straight onto the largest linked ski area in the world, which is the practical reason to accept the rest of the pageantry.

The La Mer spa sits alongside a children’s pool, and the official site counts six restaurants, from a slopeside terrace to candlelit mountain classics. The hotel reopens on 4 December 2026, according to its official site. On 13 October 2026 its booking engine showed no availability for the January and February nights we tried, so plan well ahead.

Méribel has never had many genuinely slopeside hotels, which is what makes Le Coucou worth the detour. It sits at the foot of the Rond-Point des Pistes at 1,600 m, on the edge of the runs, with 55 rooms and suites plus two private chalets joined to the main house by an interior passageway. The Spa by Tata Harper is the only one on this list with two pools, one indoor and one outdoor, alongside a sauna, hammam, jacuzzi and fitness room. Three restaurants cover Italian, beef and Savoyard. The dates are already public and unusually precise: the hotel runs from 11 December 2026 to 3 April 2027.

Val d’Isère is the resort British skiers know best, and this is its most comfortable landing point. The house holds 41 rooms and suites, including five private apartments and a chalet. It is ski-in ski-out onto the 300 km of the Espace Killy, which in a resort built along one long valley road is worth more than it sounds.

The Airelles Spa by Guerlain and the pool handle the afternoons, and the three restaurants split between Alpine cooking at La Grande Ourse, Italian at Palladio and the Japanese-Peruvian Matsuhisa. The official site announces a winter 2026 reopening without naming the day. Nightly rates are on request.

Tignes is a skiers’ resort first and a hotel resort second, and Maison Bouvier is the family-run answer to that. Twenty-four suites can be reconfigured into 31 rooms, in the middle of Val Claret. The kitchen is the reason to book: Ursus holds a Michelin star, and Le Panoramic serves at 3,032 m on the Grande Motte glacier, which is the highest table in this guide by some margin.

Le Spa des Suites has an indoor heated pool, a jacuzzi, hammam, sauna and a fitness room that the French ski team uses after training on the glacier, with Comfort Zone treatments in 25, 50 and 80 minute formats. Plan a short walk to the lifts rather than a door-to-piste start. Geneva is about 2h50 away by car, Bourg-Saint-Maurice station 30 km.

Megève does a softer, older kind of luxury than the Tarentaise resorts, and Les Fermes de Marie invented the look: a hamlet of old farmhouses taken down, moved and rebuilt around a garden. The official site describes direct access to the slopes or immediate proximity to the village, depending on which chalet you take, so it is worth naming your preference when you book.

La Ferme de Beauté runs the Pure Altitude spa, with a pool, jacuzzi, sauna and steam room, and one of the indoor pools carries a swimming lane. The estate keeps a whole village of restaurants rather than one. This is also the only address here that publishes a price: family packages from €3,167 for two nights, checked on 20 September 2026.

Chamonix is a working town at the foot of a mountain rather than a purpose-built resort, and its best hotel behaves the same way. Le Hameau Albert 1er occupies a 2.5 acre estate a short walk from the town centre, in suites and independent chalets. It is the choice for skiers who want a real town in the evening, with the Aiguille du Midi lift a bus ride away rather than a ski run.

Le Bachal spa is built around a heated indoor-outdoor pool, with a jacuzzi and a hammam, and the photograph above shows why it works in January. The Albert 1er restaurant holds one Michelin star, La Maison Carrier handles the Savoyard end, and the cellar keeps close to 19,000 bottles across more than 1,000 labels.

Val Thorens is the highest resort in Europe and the surest snow on this list, and the Pashmina is its family-run five-star, run by the Gorini family since 1979. The hotel has direct access to the slopes, and the room list runs from ordinary doubles to multi-bedroom Cosy Homes and two rooftop igloo-pods of 19 m², one with a Nordic bath and one facing the Cime Caron.

The Spa by L’Occitane keeps a heated indoor pool, an indoor and an outdoor jacuzzi, a sauna, a hammam and a fitness room open from 7am. Les Explorateurs holds a Michelin star and Base Camp does the communal Alpine end. The 2026-2027 dates are not posted yet; the previous season ran from 20 November to 2 May.

L’Alpe d’Huez trades on sunshine and a 250 km ski area spread over 10,000 hectares, and the Daria-I Nor is the address that matched it with a proper hotel. It holds 37 rooms and 9 suites at 1,860 m, most with a balcony over the slopes or the resort, and the official site describes direct connections to the ski area.

The spa is the largest in this guide at 800 m², with a heated indoor pool, sauna, hammam, jacuzzi, gym, sensory showers, an ice fountain, a solarium and a relaxation room behind a salt wall, using Phytomer and Valmont. La Table du Daria-I Nor and a south-facing lounge bar terrace cover the rest of the day.
