Airbnb joins TAP Miles&Go: 2 miles per euro spent for the program’s 9 million members

Airbnb joins TAP Miles&Go, TAP Air Portugal’s loyalty program with over 9 million members. In practice, every euro spent on the platform for an eligible stay or experience now earns two miles, provided users book through the airline’s dedicated page. A pioneering bridge of its kind that speaks volumes about the convergence between airlines and short-term rentals.

  • The partnership: Airbnb integrates the TAP Miles&Go ecosystem, TAP Air Portugal’s loyalty program (over 9 million members)
  • How it works: 2 miles earned per euro spent on eligible stays and experiences
  • How to benefit: book via flytap.com/airbnb, logged into your TAP Miles&Go account
  • The context: international bookings by Portuguese travelers on Airbnb jumped 28% this summer · 87% of Airbnb arrivals in Portugal in 2025 were international

Two miles per euro spent: how it works

The principle is simple: program members log in to their TAP Miles&Go account from the dedicated page flytap.com/airbnb, then complete their eligible stay or experience booking on Airbnb. Every euro spent credits two miles to the traveler’s account, stackable with miles earned on flights and redeemable across the Portuguese airline’s entire ecosystem, which serves more than 90 destinations in Europe, Africa, and the Americas.

The partnership builds on a very real momentum. According to Airbnb internal data, international bookings made by Portuguese travelers grew by 28% this summer (comparing Q1 2025 bookings for summer 2025 with Q1 2026 bookings for summer 2026), with Madrid, London, Seville, and Paris as top destinations. Conversely, 87% of arrivals registered at Airbnb accommodations in Portugal in 2025 were international travelers.

“At TAP, we are constantly seeking to offer more opportunities for our TAP Miles&Go members to earn and redeem their miles. Airbnb offers a different way to discover a destination, and we are delighted to welcome them to the TAP Miles&Go family,” says Sofia Lufinha, Chief Customer Officer of TAP Air Portugal. “Every trip should pave the way for the next,” adds Jaime Rodríguez de Santiago, Airbnb General Manager for Spain and Portugal, who sees in the agreement “the same ambition: bringing travelers closer to the destinations that inspire them.”

What this partnership says about the market

Long confined to partner hotels, credit cards, and car rental agencies, airline loyalty programs are now opening up to short-term rentals. For Airbnb, joining a program like TAP Miles&Go means capturing loyal travelers before they book; for TAP, it means extending its program beyond the flight across the entire travel cycle. The airline, a Star Alliance member since 2005 and named Europe’s safest airline by Airline Ratings in 2025, is strengthening an already rich program, while Airbnb takes another step into airline ecosystems. Members can start earning right now via the official TAP Air Portugal website.
