◆ May 2026 · The Red Sea · Saudi Arabia
Nestled between Umluj and Al Wajh, along the Red Sea coast, the tourist destination The Red Sea continues its expansion. Turtle Bay Resort, one of its beachside hubs, now welcomes family guests, offering direct access to the ADRENA activity park and the Shura Links championship golf course. Here’s an overview of the offerings, distances, and our editorial recommendation for LGBTQI+ travellers.
Paris, 20th May 2026. Saudi developer Red Sea Global (RSG), a subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), has been developing its flagship destination, The Red Sea, located on Saudi Arabia’s west coast, since 2023. The Turtle Bay Resort, a 25-minute drive from Red Sea International Airport, is part of this strategy, positioning itself this season for the family holiday segment.
Turtle Bay Resort: 144 Rooms on The Red Sea Waterfront

The resort offers 144 rooms with a contemporary coastal design, including several interconnecting rooms designed for family configurations. The site is organised around two adult swimming pools and a children’s pool, complemented by a supervised activity area called the Little Turtle Hub Kids Corner.
On the beachfront, the resort offers snorkelling, paddleboarding, kayaking, and windsurfing. Divers can reach the Red Sea’s coral reefs, one of the most preserved coral areas in the Arabian Peninsula, by boat in about thirty minutes. On land, two padel courts, a tennis court, and a basketball court complete the sports offering.

ADRENA: A Sport and Adventure Complex Minutes from the Resort

A short distance from Turtle Bay, the ADRENA complex brings together the destination’s sports and water experiences. According to Red Sea Global, the site features Saudi Arabia’s largest saltwater wave pool, alongside facilities dedicated to wakeboarding, snorkelling trails, a deep-water diving pool, a zip line, and equipment for beach sports. The site also includes water playgrounds and inflatable obstacle courses for younger guests.
Shura Links: An 18-Hole Golf Course Designed by Brian Curley

At the heart of Shura Island, Shura Links is announced as the kingdom’s first island championship golf course. Designed by American architect Brian Curley, this par-72 course stretches between dunes and coastline, embodying an architectural signature serving the destination. The layout takes advantage of the island’s topography and offers direct views of the Red Sea.
Red Sea Global, Tourism Arm of Vision 2030
A subsidiary of the Public Investment Fund (PIF), Red Sea Global is developing a portfolio of destinations that covers tourism, residential, lifestyle, infrastructure, transport, and healthcare. The first visitors were welcomed to The Red Sea in 2023. A second destination, AMAALA, is announced for 2025. A third, Thuwal Private Retreat, opened in 2024. RSG has also been tasked with the renovation of Al Wajh airport, including modernising the existing terminal and constructing a new international terminal.
This deployment is part of the Saudi government’s Vision 2030 plan, which aims to diversify the kingdom’s economy beyond hydrocarbons and position the country as an international tourist destination.
