Maxx Royal Bodrum joins Virtuoso and Amex Fine Hotels: the Turkish Riviera targets high-end travellers

In brief
  • 🏨 Maxx Royal Bodrum · all-inclusive resort on a private peninsula in Göltürkbükü, member of the Leading Hotels of the World
  • 🤝 Virtuoso · the invitation-only network of luxury travel advisors
  • 💳 Fine Hotels + Resorts · the American Express Travel programme, with benefits for Platinum cardholders
  • 🍽️ Three signatures · Spago by Wolfgang Puck, Leña by Dani García and Caviar Kaspia
  • 🗓️ 2026 Season · open since 28 April, running until autumn

The Maxx Royal Bodrum, which opened in 2024 on a private peninsula in Göltürkbükü, has just joined two circles rarely frequented by Turkish hotels: Virtuoso, the global network of luxury travel advisors, and Fine Hotels + Resorts, the American Express Travel programme. These are two gateways to the wealthy American clientele that the Turkish Riviera has been courting for several seasons.

What Virtuoso changes for a hotel

Virtuoso only accepts hotels by invitation, following an assessment of their service. In return, its advisors, who sell tens of billions of dollars worth of travel each year, direct their clients to the network’s addresses with negotiated benefits: room upgrades, breakfast, and on-site credit. For a seasonal resort on the Aegean Sea, it is the most direct way to gain a foothold in the North American market, where Turkey remains a destination for connoisseurs.

The American Express Fine Hotels + Resorts programme plays the same role for Platinum and Centurion cardholders, with equivalent guarantees.

Göltürkbükü, the bay of great fortunes

The resort occupies a wooded peninsula at the end of Göltürkbükü bay, on the north coast of Bodrum, the resort town where Istanbul’s wealthy elite gather in the summer. Villas and suites are tiered into the hillside, between pines and gardens, down to a lagoon and the beach. The property is a member of the Leading Hotels of the World.

Wolfgang Puck, Dani García and Caviar Kaspia

Dining is the main draw of the house, in an all-inclusive format that includes it. Spago by Wolfgang Puck, the address born in Beverly Hills, has a table here; Leña is the steakhouse by Andalusian chef Dani García, who has earned three Michelin stars in his career; Caviar Kaspia comes from the Place de la Madeleine in Paris. The Maxx Wellbeing spa completes the offering.

A season that stretches out

The 2026 season opened on 28 April and runs until autumn. The arrival at Virtuoso and Amex comes at a time when Bodrum is seeking to extend its season and move upmarket, with the recent opening of several international addresses on the peninsula. The Maxx Royal, owned by the Turkish group Maxx Royal Resorts, which is already present in Belek and Kemer on the Mediterranean coast, acts as a flagship.
