Canyon Ranch opens Canyon Ranch Austin on October 15, 2026, a 141-room wellness resort set across more than 600 acres along Lake Travis in the Texas Hill Country. The American brand, a pioneer in health retreats since 1979, is introducing a 40,000 sq ft (approximately 3,700 sq m) spa, which it presents as the largest in Texas, and has entrusted its dining to Val M. Cantú, chef of the three-Michelin-starred restaurant Californios in San Francisco. All-inclusive stays start at $1,193 per person, per night.

A 600-acre resort on Lake Travis
The estate spans more than 600 acres (approximately 243 hectares) of limestone hills, wildflower meadows, and oak trees, featuring nearly 1.5 miles of shoreline along Lake Travis and a small beach. Designed by Texas-based firm Lake Flato Architects, this is the first resort that Canyon Ranch has built entirely from the ground up. The 141 rooms are distributed across three three-storey lodges; 5 miles of trails, two pools, tennis, pickleball and padel courts, an equestrian programme, and water sports complete the offering.
“Canyon Ranch Austin embodies our vision for the future, at the crossroads of travel, hospitality, well-being, care, and culture,” summarises Mark Rivers, CEO of Canyon Ranch. The project was announced in 2022 by Canyon Ranch, with John Goff as principal owner, backed by financing from real estate investment trust VICI Properties.
A 3,700 sq m spa and a medical centre
The spa brings together around 40 treatment rooms and more than 100 treatments, a cedar sauna, a hammam, a rain shower, an ice fountain, three hot tubs, and two cold plunges. Among the signature treatments, the “Vinyl Revival Massage” is performed to the sound of a vinyl record by a local artist, updated every quarter. The resort also features a medical centre of approximately 1,100 sq m, complete with a women’s health division, alongside The Barn, a fitness and recovery building extended by an open-air yoga deck.
141 rooms and dining by Val M. Cantú
Deluxe and Premium rooms measure approximately 36 sq m, while suites range from 58 to 74 sq m; top-floor Premium Lofted rooms feature vaulted ceilings. On the culinary front, Estella restaurant is led by Val M. Cantú, the Texas-born chef from Californios in San Francisco, which became the world’s first Mexican restaurant to earn three Michelin stars in June 2026. The Flying X Café provides a more casual setting, while a Music Room with a vinyl bar hosts evening gatherings.
Prices and all-inclusive formula
Canyon Ranch sells its stays through a “Stay Your Way” package: accommodation, meals, snacks and non-alcoholic drinks, over 35 daily activities, access to the spa and fitness facilities, transfers from Austin airport, and a $200 per person, per night credit for treatments. Alcohol and treatments exceeding the credit are charged additionally; the resort operates on a no-tipping and no-hidden-fees policy.
