Six Senses AMAALA resort opens on the Red Sea: 100 suites and villas, a longevity centre and a mangrove lagoon

Three years after Six Senses Southern Dunes, the brand’s first address in the kingdom, the IHG group opened its second Saudi resort on 15 July 2026: Six Senses AMAALA, on the northern coast of the Red Sea. It is located in the heart of AMAALA, the wellness destination developed by Red Sea Global, a few hours’ drive from the future city of Neom.

A coastal village between cliffs and reefs

The site stretches between desert mountains and coves lined with coral reefs, along a protected coastline of over 4,100 square kilometres. The resort features 100 suites and villas as well as 25 branded residences, laid out like a traditional coastal village: shaded alleyways, interior courtyards, local stone and light wood. The villas overlook the beach, the lagoon or a rocky plateau overlooking the sea.

A spa designed as a longevity centre

The brand, known for its sleep and fitness programmes, goes further here. The Six Senses Spa houses a longevity centre, a biohacking recovery lounge, a watsu pool and a sound dome, in addition to treatment rooms and wet areas. Resident and visiting practitioners offer assessments and themed stays, ranging from sleep to nutrition.

Three restaurants and a cooking school

Dining is organised around three signature restaurants, complemented by an artisan bakery, a coffee roastery and a cooking school open to guests. The resort’s garden and the lagoon’s mangroves, preserved during construction, supply some of the menus and activities: kayaking among the mangroves, observation outings, and diving on the reefs.

What this resort says about the Saudi Red Sea

AMAALA is the second major project by Red Sea Global after The Red Sea, where Six Senses Southern Dunes, St. Regis and Ritz-Carlton Reserve opened in 2023 and 2024. With this second address, Six Senses becomes the most prominent brand on this coastline, and confirms that the kingdom’s northern coast is positioning itself on wellness rather than towers and marinas.
