Between Place Pigalle and Notre-Dame-de-Lorette, rue Victor-Massé is lined with guitar shops, cocktail bars, and ordinary Haussmannian buildings. This is where Hotel Massé opened on 10 September 2025. A year later, the 40-room establishment has become a fixture in the landscape of SoPi, the lower part of Pigalle that the neighbourhood has rebranded.
Forty rooms, no two alike
The guiding principle can be summed up in one sentence: to create a Parisian apartment rather than a hotel. The rooms are all different, some with sloped ceilings, others with balconies, some opening onto zinc rooftops, and a few are connecting. The corridors are draped in deep burgundy, and the volumes retain those of the original building, with their imperfections.
The interior design is by Juliette Gasparetto and Julie Parenti, who met in 2018 at Festen and this is their first joint project. The tiles were custom-designed, the cabinetry entrusted to Alexis Mazin, and the bedside lamps are by Ingo Maurer.
Le Trente, opened after the rooms
The bar-restaurant, Le Trente, opened after the hotel, as is often the case in smaller establishments where the restaurant waits for the accommodation to become established. Small plates are served in a room designed for the neighbourhood as much as for the guests.
A hotel that acts as a gallery
The curation was entrusted to a Parisian gallery, featuring works by Sophie Esteve, Eduardo Lalanne, Christian Rosa, and Gallate Martin. The list of suppliers speaks volumes about the rest of the project: Foufour Marseille soaps, Typology cosmetics, Plaq chocolates, viennoiseries from Pain Retrouvé, carpets from Éditions de Tapis, uniforms from Studio de Lostange. Everything is French, and most of it is Parisian.
A family, not a group
The hotel was born from the ambition of Corto Peyron, supported by his sister Éole. Neither a brand, nor a hotel group, nor an institutional investor: it is a first establishment, in a neighbourhood that has seen several emerge in recent years, from Grand Pigalle to Rochechouart.
What the address offers
Le Massé claims an ‘intergenerational and multicultural’ spirit, reflecting the 9th arrondissement. Specifically, it offers Parisian-sized rooms, between twelve and twenty square metres, two hundred and forty metres from Pigalle metro station. It is a neighbourhood address more than a destination, and that is precisely what it aims to be.
