A hotel will open in Milan Central Station: The Duke Milan, Curio Collection by Hilton, with 44 rooms set in the piazza Luigi di Savoia wing, for 11 million euros. Announced on 28 September 2026, the brand makes it the first Curio Collection located in a European station, and the first hotel to open in an Italian station. Work is scheduled to be completed in autumn 2027.

A hotel in the station wing
The hotel will be located on the piazza Luigi di Savoia side, in floors that remained empty for a long time above former shops. Grandi Stazioni Retail, which manages the commercial spaces of major Italian stations, is leading the project; Pacini Group, chosen from more than fifteen operators, will manage it. The building’s architecture is entrusted to the studio RMA of Roberto Murgia, and the interiors to Studio Marco Piva.
The first hotel in an Italian station
No Italian station has previously hosted a hotel within its walls. Milano Centrale, inaugurated in 1931, is one of the largest stations in Europe and the arrival point for high-speed trains from Paris, Turin or Rome. For travellers, the hotel promises a room just a few steps from the platforms. No restaurant or bar has been announced yet.
Our take
Station hotels have created the legend of the rail, like the St Pancras in London. Milan is catching up with a small 44-room address, rather than a grand traveller’s hotel.
