Le Primore Hotel in Hévíz: An 11,500 m² Thermal Spa in Hungary

Le Primore Hotel & Spa, opened in May 2025 in Hévíz, Hungary, houses the Eden Spa, featuring nearly 11,500 m² of thermal pools, saunas and treatments reserved for hotel guests. The thermal water comes from the hotel’s own well in the town famous for its Hungarian thermal lake, near Lake Balaton. Expect around €410 per night for two in mid-November, including half-board and spa access.

An 11,500 m² thermal spa in Hévíz

Hévíz owes its reputation to its thermal lake, which operators describe as the world’s largest biologically active natural thermal lake: 4.4 hectares of water that never drops below 22 °C, even in winter. It is in this spa town that Le Primore Hotel & Spa opened in spring 2025, a brand-new five-star superior hotel built by the Hungarian group Event Horizon Capital with the support of the Kisfaludy public programme.

Its Eden Spa spans nearly 11,500 m²: indoor and outdoor thermal pools filled with 34-36 °C water drawn from the hotel’s well, a 25-metre sports pool, whirlpools, a lazy river, a Kneipp foot bath and a children’s area. The saunas are divided into three worlds, including one of Hungary’s largest swimsuit-free zones, featuring a Finnish sauna, steam room, tepidarium, salt room and a snow cabin presented as the country’s only one. The spa is open daily from 8 am to 10 pm and remains reserved for residents.

For treatments, the Mewali Balinese Spa entrusts massages to Balinese therapists, while the beauty salon works with the Omorovicza and GAIA brands. A private area with a sauna, steam room and sensory corridor can be booked separately, with champagne as an option.

285 rooms, from studios to penthouses

The hotel offers eight room categories. The 30 to 32 m² Premium Urban and Premium Nature rooms all feature a balcony; the 45 to 50 m² Romantic Oasis Studios feature an in-room whirlpool bath. At the higher end, Corner Suites reach up to 67 m², and top-floor penthouses feature a rooftop terrace and reserved access to the infinity pool, open from March to November.

La Vie Gourmet, the rooftop restaurant

On the top floor, facing the infinity pool, La Vie Gourmet serves executive chef Attila Borda’s cuisine: a seasonal a la carte menu and four- and seven-course tasting menus, with a guest chef every month. The restaurant earned two toques in Gault&Millau three months after opening, and the hotel is featured in the Michelin Guide selection. Half-board, served in the ground-floor restaurant, is included in all bookings.

Discovering the thermal lake of Hévíz

The lake, covered in water lilies and bordered by a protected forest, is swimmable year-round: between 35 and 38 °C in summer, never dropping below 22 °C in winter, when steam rises above the water.
