Two Michelin Keys, a new entry in the guide

According to Mandarin Oriental’s press release of 22 September 2026, The Landmark enters the selection of Michelin Keys, the guide’s hotel distinction, with two Keys. General manager Michael Groll sees it as a reflection of the teams’ commitment and expertise, recognition earned “so soon after the reopening”. To gauge what this label is worth, read our analysis of the real value of Michelin Keys for hotels and the full 2026 worldwide selection.
Opened in 2005 at 15 Queen’s Road Central, the hotel announced its transformation on 1 April 2026, then reopened on 1 June 2026. The award therefore comes less than four months after the first guests returned.
Neri&Hu and Joyce Wang reinvent The Landmark

Outside, the Neri&Hu practice has clad the retained structure of the former Harvey Nichols department store in a façade called “Urban Tapestry”: moulded terracotta tiles laid in a staggered pattern, each row resting on a dark bronze ledge, and cast-glass blocks that light up the whole building at night. A new entrance opens onto Queen’s Road Central, with a stone staircase leading up to the lobby.
Inside, Joyce Wang returns to the hotel ten years after her first project there. Her reference points are the historic Yu Yuen and Tai Fu Tai mansions, from which she borrows terracotta tones, deep greens and natural wood.
109 rooms, from 42 to 167 m²
The 109 rooms and suites start with the L450, from 42 m². Next come the 56 m² L600 Junior Suite, the 83 m² L900 Suite and the 140 m² Landmark Suite, with an open Gaggenau kitchen. At the top, the 167 m² Entertainment Suite combines a Gaggenau kitchen, a dining room for eight and the FreshBed sleep system. From the L600 upwards, the curved glass bathroom holds a seven-foot round bathtub, about 2.1 m.
Amber, three stars on the seventh floor

The seventh floor brings together seven Michelin stars and a Green Star. Amber, chef Richard Ekkebus’s restaurant, holds three of them along with the Green Star: the third arrived in 2025, after sixteen years at two stars, and the restaurant has kept it in 2026.
Amber is currently offering the “Amber Kitchen Experience”, a behind-the-scenes tour of the kitchen, and a four- or five-course weekend lunch on Saturdays and Sundays.
Sushi Shikon, Rin, SOMM: where to book?
On the same floor, Sushi Shikon holds three stars and Rin, formerly Kappo Rin, one star for its eight-seat counter. SOMM, the hotel’s French bistro, has no star.
New with the reopening, the champagne bar Blanc de Noirs has 30 seats, 25 champagnes by the glass and a cellar of 500 labels; it also gives access to Amber’s 3,000-label list, and its “Champagne O’Clock Fountain” flows every evening. Leading off the lobby, The Communal café serves from 8am to 7pm, with no reservations.
The spa will reopen in winter 2026

On the wellness front, the spa has not yet reopened: the official website now gives winter 2026 for its return, whereas the April press release was aiming for July. The Spa & Wellness area brings together yoga, Pilates and Gyrotonic studios, a pool and a steam room; until it fully reopens, guests already have access to the pool, the gym, the Pilates and yoga studios and a selection of treatments.
