The rescuers’ base stands in the centre of Ramsau, just below the Protestant church. The building is used only for filming: Ramsau’s real Bergrettung, the mountain rescue service, is based elsewhere in the village.

According to the Schladming-Dachstein tourist board, this chalet, nicknamed “Pehab Zuahäusl” (the Pehab’s little annexe), belongs to the Prugger family, owners of the Hotel Pehab right next door. You can photograph it from outside; park at the church or at the Dachstein Event Center, not in front of the door.

Hof Emilie, the farm where Markus, Emilie and Tobias live in the series, is a 17th-century house that is now used only for filming. It belongs to the Perner family, who run a neighbouring organic farm and let holiday apartments.

You walk up from the centre of Ramsau in about 30 minutes: the access road is closed to cars. The interior can be seen on the Friday guided walk.

Pension Marthaler, Franz Marthaler’s home, is in fact the Gruberhof, a farm recorded as early as the 15th century and still working today. Most scenes are shot in the Gruberstube, the adjoining room.

The Hotel Pehab is the closest address to the set: its webcam films the Zentrale, the church and the Dachstein around the clock. A church-side room costs from €211 a night for two, half board included, according to the hotel’s website on 18 October 2026.

The house has 36 rooms and a rooftop spa, with a heated infinity pool facing the Dachstein and a “Wärmewald”, a warm relaxation area. In winter, the cross-country ski trail starts 200 metres from the hotel.

In the storyline, estate agent Lukas offers Tobias Herbrechter a hotel to buy, the Petershof. In reality it is the Lindenhof, a four-star superior in Ramsau run by the Eisl family, and a set for the series since 2025 according to the hotel.

Heribert Eisl long headed Ramsau’s Bergrettung. He has advised the production since the first season and oversees safety on set; both his sons are rescuers. With a little luck, guests get to watch a shoot.

The 27 m² Deluxe double room costs €172 per person per night during Advent (4 to 19 December 2026) and €207 in high season, from 23 January to 6 March 2027. Three-quarter board, the house “Verwöhnpension”, is included; add 10% for stays of three nights or fewer. Day visitors have no parking: they come on foot along the Bergretter trail.

Schloss Pichlarn, the former “Hotel Herbrechter”

For several seasons, Peter Herbrechter, the series’ mayor, owned a hotel bearing his name. According to the Schladming-Dachstein tourist board, this “Hotel Herbrechter” was Schloss Pichlarn, in Aigen im Ennstal, further east in the Enns valley.

The board adds that the hotel has since been sold and no longer appears in the series; it is no longer on its current list of filming locations. The castle has a thousand years of history, became a hotel in 1972 with its own golf course, and has belonged to the IMLAUER group since 2021.

This five-star has 110 rooms and suites, a 4,500 m² spa with indoor and outdoor pools, and looks out to the Grimming massif. Rates are not published online: the hotel is currently offering 20% off the room rate on half board.

Gradonna, the Grossglockner resort

Beyond Styria, the Gradonna Mountain Resort sits in Kals am Großglockner, in East Tyrol, beneath Austria’s highest peak (3,798 m). According to Lifestyle Hotels, the hotel group it belongs to, the resort has been a set for “Die Bergretter”, as for other series.

This car-free four-star superior brings together a hotel and 36 chalets, with skiing from the door. The Klassik double room costs from €197 per person per day, gourmet board included, from 5 to 18 December 2026, 6 to 29 January and 6 to 19 March 2027; €235 in high season and €302 at Christmas. In winter, a supplement of €10 per person per day applies to stays of one to four nights.

The guided walk “Auf den Spuren der Bergretter” (in the footsteps of the Bergretter) runs on Fridays from 10am to 12.30pm, from 8 May to 30 October 2026. It links the Zentrale to Hof Emilie and opens up the interiors of both sets.

The tourist board lists other filming locations: Schladming hospital, the heliport, the Südwandhütte (a mountain hut below the Dachstein’s south face), the Salza waterfall, the Bachlalm, the Reiteralm and the Rittisberg. ZDF also mentions the Stoderzinken, an easy-to-reach 2,000-metre summit, and the Dachstein Glacier.

The next Bergretter Fantag, the fans’ day in Ramsau, takes place on 11 June 2027. For other series and their hotels, see where Dr. Nice is filmed, the Sacher, Kommissar Rex’s set in Vienna, Villa Magnolia, the real “Hotel Portofino” or, in the same region, the Höflehner Naturresort.
