The Almer Porto Alegre hotel will open in January 2027 with 84 golf-view suites and apartments

The Almer Porto Alegre, the first hotel from Brazilian group ICH Hotéis’ upscale brand, will open in January 2027 with 84 apartments and suites, all facing the Porto Alegre Country Club golf course. The ICH Hotéis press release, issued on 1 October 2026, confirms the date, puts the investment at around 130 million reais and details a project designed by Uruguayan studio Obra Prima.

84 keys facing the Country Club golf course

The hotel will rise at 2780 Avenida Nilo Peçanha, in the Jardim Europa neighbourhood, next to Shopping Iguatemi. All 84 apartments and suites will overlook the golf course of the Porto Alegre Country Club. It is part of a CFL development that already includes the completed NL 2800 office tower and also features an upscale residential building, Estância Residências do Golfe.

Unveiled in April 2026, due in January 2027

The Almer Hotels brand was unveiled on 14 April 2026 at the WTM Latin America trade show in São Paulo. The Porto Alegre opening was then expected in the second half of 2026; it is now set for January 2027. For now, the brand’s website shows only a holding page, and the hotel cannot yet be booked.

According to Alexandre Gehlen, CEO of ICH, the project grew out of a call from CFL just as the group was developing an upscale brand. “We feel Porto Alegre lacks a property of this kind. It is a privilege to open this hotel in our city,” he says. ICH was born in Porto Alegre, in 1999.

Quiet luxury, the Obra Prima studio way

The project was developed by Obra Prima, a studio based in Punta del Este, Uruguay. The ICH Hotéis press release frames it as “quiet luxury”, focused on service and guest well-being: natural wood finishes, designer furniture and Acqua di Parma toiletries. The room photos released by the group predate the opening; the views of the suites, rooftop and restaurant are renderings.

Marcelo Marinho, ICH’s director of sales and marketing, sums up the intention: “The hotel brings the most contemporary approach to service, where sophistication lies in the simplicity of things. No excess, no showing off: The Almer invites you to slow down in such a noisy world.”

A panoramic rooftop and a pool open 24/7

The announced facilities include a rooftop with panoramic views, a spa with sauna, and a pool and gym open 24 hours a day; according to the rendering released, the pool will sit on the roof. Room service, laundry, a meeting room, an events space, Wi-Fi and parking complete the offer. Pets will be welcome for a supplement. The renderings include a suite with a freestanding bathtub and a corner suite opening onto the golf course and the city.

Where to eat at The Almer Porto Alegre?

At the brand launch in April, ICH announced two restaurants: one dedicated to breakfast, the other a signature restaurant serving international cuisine at lunch and dinner. Their names have not yet been revealed.

ICH Hotéis: 45 hotels and eyes on Florianópolis

Founded in Porto Alegre in 1999, ICH operates 45 hotels in Brazil, more than 6,700 rooms in all, under the Intercity, Yoo2, Hi! and Cityhome brands, as well as franchised Tru by Hilton hotels. CFL will also partner on the second confirmed address: a beachfront The Almer in Jurerê Internacional, Florianópolis, in the state of Santa Catarina, announced for 2029 at the brand launch.

Southern Brazil is drawing other upscale projects, such as the Emiliano hotel at Praia Brava, on the Santa Catarina coast.
