Hilton is bringing its upscale brand to the west coast of Florida. The group announced on 10 September 2026 the signing of the Naples Grande Beach Resort, which will reopen on 1 January 2027 under the Signia by Hilton brand, following the most extensive renovation in its forty-year history. With 474 rooms and suites, including 50 villas, the property becomes the first Signia on the Gulf Coast and the third in the state, following Orlando and Hollywood.
474 rooms and 50 villas between mangroves and the Gulf of Mexico
Naples occupies the south-west tip of Florida, on what the tourism board calls the Paradise Coast, a two-hour drive from Miami via Alligator Alley. The resort enjoys a rare setting: a tower nestled between the protected mangroves of Clam Pass Park and three miles of white sand beach, connected by a shuttle service through the mangrove forest. In addition to the 424 rooms and suites in the tower, there are 50 villas scattered throughout the gardens, uniquely redesigned during the renovation to offer families and extended-stay guests the privacy of a residence. Downtown Naples, its galleries and the luxury boutiques of Waterside Shops are just minutes away.

The ongoing project touches every aspect of the property. Rooms and suites are being redesigned with a residential aesthetic that is lighter and more understated, featuring coastal-inspired materials. The culinary offering has been reimagined around several restaurant and bar concepts highlighting seafood and South Florida flavours. The spa, several outdoor swimming pools, a competitive-level tennis club and new indoor and outdoor meeting and function spaces complete the programme. Gary Sims, general manager of the resort, summarises the vision: “building upon the heritage of this address by carefully reinventing it” for its transition into the brand.

Signia by Hilton, the brand for grand resorts and conventions
Launched in 2019, Signia by Hilton is the brand reserved by the group for large-scale upscale hotels focused on meetings and events, featuring vast function spaces and resort-style leisure offerings. In Florida, it already includes the Signia by Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek, at the gates of Walt Disney World, and the Diplomat Beach Resort in Hollywood, on the east coast. Naples opens up the west coast and its clientele of golfers, boaters and Midwest families, who make the city one of the most exclusive destinations in the state.
Our perspective
The Naples Grande is not a new hotel, and that is what makes the project interesting. Hilton has chosen to transform a well-established property of forty years rather than build anew, along a coastline where almost no beachfront land remains available. The 50 villas and access to three miles of beach are the true assets, even more than the tower. It remains to be seen in January 2027 whether the renovation will imbue the entire property with the character promised by the brand, or simply place a new name on a familiar facade.
