Ibiza remains one of the most sought-after hotel markets in the Mediterranean. The Stoneweg / Bain Capital joint venture has just sold Mongibello Ibiza, a 168-room lifestyle hotel, to the Israeli group Grupo Ramat for 60 million euros. A transaction that seals the continuous upscale development of the white island.
A lifestyle hotel with a Dolce Vita DNA
Located on the seafront in Santa Eulària des Riu, Mongibello Ibiza cultivates a strong identity inspired by Italian and Mediterranean culture of the 1960s-70s · the Dolce Vita spirit, with its chic retro design, experiences, and curated events. The establishment has 168 rooms, including 32 suites, and has established itself as one of the island’s premium and festive destinations.

Stoneweg and Bain Capital complete their value-add
For the sellers, the operation marks a successful exit. Stoneweg (based in Geneva) and Bain Capital (Boston) acquired the asset in 2022 from Palladium Hotel Group, before deploying a repositioning strategy. The sale for €60M (approx. $68.8M) materialises the value creation carried out over three years.
Grupo Ramat strengthens its Ibizan empire
On the buyer’s side, Grupo Ramat will operate the hotel under its Concept Hotel Group brand, which already manages four other properties in Ibiza. The Israeli group is thus consolidating its position on the island, in a rapidly expanding lifestyle and experiential segment. A strategy consistent with the upscale trajectory of the Balearic Islands.
Our view
This sale confirms two underlying trends: the accelerated rotation of Balearic hotel assets among international funds, and the premium placed on lifestyle concepts with strong identities, which are more valuable than generic hotels. For La Revue des Hôtels, the acquisition of Mongibello by a seasoned local operator like Grupo Ramat is a clear signal: in Ibiza, brand creativity has become the primary driver of value.
