Hotel Danieli: Four Seasons orchestrates the renaissance of the Venetian legend

  • Official reopening on 30 July 2026 following a major renovation.
  • Rollout of 120 restored rooms and suites, before expanding capacity to 168 keys in 2027.
  • Interior decor reimagined by Pierre-Yves Rochon to showcase the Gothic heritage.
  • Culinary offering orchestrated by Chef Adriano Rausa at the panoramic Terrazza Danieli restaurant.

A heritage metamorphosis on the Riva degli Schiavoni

An essential symbol of the City of Doges, the legendary Venetian establishment enters a new era under the Four Seasons banner. Owned by the Statuto group, this architectural complex comprising three historic palaces has benefitted from an extensive enhancement programme. The first phase of this reopening concerns Palazzo Dandolo, a 15th-century Gothic building, as well as Palazzo Casa Nuova. This takeover consolidates the Canadian brand’s footprint in the ultra-luxury Italian market.

The aesthetic signature of Pierre-Yves Rochon

The artistic direction of the interior spaces was entrusted to French designer Pierre-Yves Rochon, who set out to preserve the site’s centuries-old heritage while instilling contemporary elegance. The selected shades evoke the chromatic palette of the lagoon, combining sea greens with hues of ochre and terracotta pink. Venetian craftsmanship takes pride of place with Murano glass creations, Rubelli fabrics and original terrazzo floors. In the main lobby, the leaf-gilded carved ceilings and monumental staircase regain their former glory.

Rooms, suites and an exceptional culinary experience

The establishment initially offers 120 fully reimagined keys, featuring unique perspectives over the lagoon or surrounding canals. The layout now favours more generous volumes and ideal flexibility for residential stays. On the hotel rooftop, the Terrazza Danieli restaurant continues to offer one of the most spectacular panoramas in Venice facing the island of San Giorgio Maggiore. Executive Chef Adriano Rausa interprets Italian gastronomy deeply rooted in local traditions.

A phased opening schedule leading up to 2027

The transformation project will continue in the coming months to enrich the overall experience. Late 2026 will see the unveiling of the Danieli Spa, a space dedicated to well-being featuring three treatment rooms, a sauna and a hammam. The final stage is scheduled for 2027 with the delivery of the renovated Palazzo Danieli Excelsior, bringing the urban resort’s total capacity to 168 rooms and suites.
