Three years of construction and a fully revamped resort in southern Gran Canaria. Spanish group H10 Hotels announced on 1 October 2026 the completion of the renovation of H10 Playa Meloneras, now H10 Playa Meloneras Horizons Collection: 373 redesigned rooms and suites, two new restaurants and a refurbished spa, facing the Atlantic and a stone’s throw from the Maspalomas lighthouse.

A completely revamped resort
The former H10 Playa Meloneras Palace was already one of the major resorts on the southern coast. The three-year renovation touched every room, the lobby and reception, the Tamadaba buffet, the main pool, the kids club and the sports facilities. The 373 rooms and suites feature Atlantic inspired decor, complete with a Chromecast television, Nespresso machine, minibar and Rituals toiletries. The hotel remains a family resort, featuring a kids club and a heated pool for children, rather than an adults-only address.
Il Trastevere and Sakura, the two new restaurants
Two à la carte restaurants make their debut: Il Trastevere, serving Italian cuisine around an artisanal pizza oven, and Sakura, a Japanese restaurant featuring show-cooking teppanyaki. They complement Gaudí, Naturalia & La Brasserie, the Tamadaba buffet and three bars, including the Lobby Bar. The Despacio Spa Centre offers a dynamic pool, a thermal circuit, a jacuzzi, a sauna, treatment cabins and a gym.
Privilege, the hotel within the hotel
The Privilege service, available at an extra charge, provides access to dedicated rooms, a private lounge, a solarium and a heated pool overlooking the ocean. A pool concierge and thoughtful touches, from welcome chocolates to the loan of analogue cameras, complete the offering. With this project, H10 unveils its third Horizons Collection resort, following the H10 Atlantic Sunset in Tenerife and the H10 Rubicón in Lanzarote. The Canaries are moving upscale, from the revival of the Gran Hotel Taoro in Tenerife to more intimate addresses such as El Elevador.
