An exceptional hotel with a Spa and an incredible pool just a stone’s throw from Paris:

Inaugurated in June 2024, we were lucky enough to be invited to test the “Dolce by Wyndham Versailles” hotel, which is located in the historic Domaine du Montcel in Jouy-en-Josas (78). This hotel offers a lush 14-hectare setting open to city dwellers in search of tranquillity. The estate, once owned by Christophe-Philippe Oberkampf · the inventor of the famous Toiles de Jouy · houses a listed park, an English-style garden with a bicentennial cedar tree, and monumental contemporary artworks, a legacy from the Fondation Cartier and other periods.

The Spa du Montcel Sothys: the jewel of the Dolce by Wyndham Versailles hotel:

A true haven of well-being, the Spa du Montcel Sothys is undoubtedly the jewel of the hotel.

Nestled in the heart of the estate, this exceptional spa spans a vast area and offers a complete sensory experience.

Visitors will discover:

  • a large indoor pool bathed in light, extended by a heated outdoor pool, open to nature,
  • a sauna, a hammam, a refreshing snow cave,
  • sensory showers for a multisensory awakening,
  • as well as a wide range of massages and treatments by Sothys.

Accessible 24/7 for hotel guests (and from 9am to 8pm for external visitors), the spa also includes a high-end fitness room.
Access to the spa and pool is included for residents (1h30 per night), and offered at €35 per day for external visitors.

Rooms and suites that are both ultra-modern and resolutely contemporary:

The establishment offers 178 rooms, suites, and apartments, including 7 accessible to guests with reduced mobility dolcehotelversailles.com. The decoration, designed by Sébastien Flamant, blends subtle Toiles de Jouy, soothing tones, and modern furniture. Guests enjoy high-end amenities: quality bedding, bathrobes & slippers, minibar, free high-speed Wi-Fi, and 24/7 service.

Three restaurants available, and gourmet options for dining at the “Dolce by Wyndham Versailles” hotel:

Le Cèdre: elegant bar with a terrace, facing the park, offering cocktails, wines, and tapas.

La Manufacture: generous buffet (breakfast, lunch, dinner) highlighting organic and seasonal products.

La Toile: gourmet brasserie imagined by chef Benoist Rambaud (inspired by the local heritage); creative French cuisine with balanced flavours, marrying terroir and Asian touches.

From summer 2025, the hotel will offer unique summer events:

  • Chic barbecue at the brasero with selected meats (Metzger, Marguerite), fish, and grilled vegetables. Creative finger food: Panko-crusted prawns, oxtail cromesquis, gourmet platters (smoked salmon, foie gras).
  • “It’s Friday-yeah” afterworks: DJ sets, signature cocktails like the “Winter Sour” Williams pear, to kick off the weekend.
  • Lounge evenings on Saturdays: relaxed atmosphere, champagne bubbles, “Jardin Pittoresque” matcha-basil mocktails, guinguette spirit.

Activities & environment:

  • In the heart of the Île-de-France, the hotel is located 10 minutes from the Château de Versailles (20 minutes by public transport).
The estate’s park offers direct access to over 30 km of marked trails in the Bièvre valley. The Spa also offers Sunday yoga sessions (10:30am) followed by a brunch (€90, yoga only €15).
