Nanö Beach Hotel: 30 luxury bungalows to awaken Bahia’s north coast

Last updated:
In brief
  • The Nanö Beach Hotel will open in November 2026 in Subaúma, a fishing village on Bahia’s north coast (Brazil), 100 km from Salvador: it will be the first luxury hotel in the region.
  • 30 ocean-facing bungalows, scattered amidst the native vegetation, some with a private pool, others with a hot tub.
  • Investment: 120 million reais (approximately 19 million euros), led by Belgian entrepreneur Antoine Painblanc.

Brazilian luxury is seeking new shores, and it might just find them near Subaúma. On the Linha Verde, the coastal road heading north from Salvador, this fishing village in the municipality of Entre Rios will see the opening of the Nanö Beach Hotel in November, a 30-key micro-resort aiming to put Bahia’s north coast on the map for high-end tourism.

Thirty bungalows amidst native vegetation

In stark contrast to the large resorts of the Nordeste, the project focuses on an intimate scale: 30 beachfront bungalows, scattered amidst the native vegetation to preserve each guest’s privacy. The most exclusive units feature a private pool, while others have a hot tub. The stated ambition: exclusivity, well-being, and a celebration of local culture, including Bahian cuisine.

An exceptional spa for the region

The future wellness complex announces a rare offering in Brazil: floatation pools, hammam, Vichy shower, and halotherapy. The hotel also promises the country’s first Reaxing gym, named after the neuromuscular training equipment used by clubs like Paris Saint-Germain. Add beach sports and local gastronomy: the Nanö clearly aims for a complete wellness stay, not just a simple seaside stopover.

Antoine Painblanc’s Belgian gamble

Behind the project is Belgian investor Antoine Painblanc, based in Brazil since 2017, who started by operating a beach club on the same beach. The investment of 120 million reais (approximately 19 million euros) covers land, infrastructure, and social projects for the village. A strong signal for the Linha Verde, until now dominated by the family offerings of Praia do Forte, and new proof that Brazilian luxury is expanding beyond its historical strongholds.

Our perspective

Luxury Brazil is no longer limited to Trancoso and the resorts of Praia do Forte. Like the Primitivo on the Rota dos Milagres, the Nanö embodies the new generation of Brazilian addresses: micro-resorts with fewer than 40 keys, rooted in their territory, designed for a clientele that shuns giant complexes. If the spa’s promise is kept, Bahia’s north coast will have its first true flagship. See you in November.
