The Lençóis Maranhenses, a setting unique in the world
This national park, recognised as one of the most breathtaking landscapes on the planet, features endless white sand dunes dotted with turquoise freshwater lagoons that form during the rainy season. Recognition came in 2026, with Atins beach ranking 7th among the world’s finest beaches, a spotlight that has further heightened the region’s appeal for affluent travellers.

Villa Pantai Boutique Hotel Atins, embodying the upscale evolution
It is against this backdrop that the Villa Pantai Boutique Hotel Atins opens in July 2026, created by Grupo Pantai, already renowned for their property in São Miguel dos Milagres. The hotel features 22 units, ranging from suites overlooking the lagoon pool to bungalows equipped with their own private pool.
Its centrepiece sets the tone: an approximately 120,000-litre lagoon pool inspired by the Lençóis lagoons, with a sand bottom naturally warmed by stones. The restaurant, dedicated to the regional gastronomy of the Nordeste, complements an array of experiences rooted in the local area: boat trips on the Rio Preguiças, excursions to the lagoons, kitesurfing and encounters with local communities. The intimate format and deep connection to the landscape reflect Atins’ new ambition: experiential luxury that is understated and in tune with nature, far removed from international beach resort standards.

Lençóis Suites, Lagos Suites: two ways to experience the dunes
As for the rooms, the property offers two distinct atmospheres. The Lençóis suites embrace natural simplicity · bamboo headboards, macramé and raw materials · while the Lagos suites add a private pool, carved between stone walls and palm trees. Throughout, the same design philosophy applies: ubiquitous local craftsmanship and rooms opening directly onto the landscape.

The art of living: Nordeste dining and zen pavilion
Days begin with a breakfast showcasing Nordeste flavours, featuring regional fruits and treats served facing the garden. A stilted meditation pavilion perched above a pond completes the wellness experience · sunrise yoga, massages and the silence of the dunes.
