Rhodes is getting a new exceptional address. Accor, via its MGallery boutique-hotel collection, and Colossos SA, a historic player in Rhodian hospitality, have signed an agreement to create an adults-only luxury resort in Kallithea, on the island’s northeast coast. Announced on July 8, 2026, MGallery Rhodes will open its doors in spring 2027, overlooking the Aegean Sea.
An adults-only refuge facing the Aegean Sea
The future resort will feature 222 rooms, suites and bungalows, all designed to offer an unobstructed sea view. The architecture will draw from the island’s heritage, from its listed medieval city to its coastal landscapes, blending contemporary elegance with Rhodian identity. The adults-only positioning responds to a rapidly growing demand: stays focused on tranquility, intimacy, and bespoke experiences, far from the hustle and bustle of the large family resorts that still dominate the island’s offerings.
50 private pools, five restaurants and a 1,100 sq m spa
The programme sets the tone: around fifty private pools dotted among the rooms and bungalows, a gourmet restaurant supported by four themed eateries highlighting Mediterranean flavours, and several bars including a signature cocktail bar. For wellness, a 1,100 sq m spa will feature an indoor pool and hydromassage facilities, complemented by an outdoor fitness area, exercise trails, and tennis and padel courts.
MGallery doubles down in Greece
With over 125 addresses worldwide and a pipeline of 56 projects, MGallery is accelerating its expansion in Greece, where the collection already includes the Athens Capital Hotel, the NIKO Seaside Resort in Crete, and the Kove Hotel & Spa in Mykonos. MGallery Rhodes will join the future Nírema Hotel & Spa in Samos, with an stated ambition: to double the brand’s presence in the country.
“The hotel we are developing in Rhodes uniquely captures the essence of the island. From its inspired architecture to its commitment to well-being, it reflects what guests are looking for in modern luxury travel,” summarises Maud Bailly, CEO Sofitel Legend, Sofitel, MGallery & Emblems.

Colossos SA, Rhodes’ historic hotelier
Founded in 1958, Colossos SA is a family-run business and one of the most respected players in Rhodian hospitality, with a portfolio that includes the Amada Colossos Resort and Rodos Park. By partnering with a global brand, the group is scaling up. “MGallery Rhodes represents a major strategic investment, expressing our vision for the future of hospitality in Rhodes: quality, aesthetics, international collaborations, and distinctively branded experiences,” emphasises Aris Soulounias, CEO of Colossos SA.
Why Rhodes attracts luxury brands
The announcement comes in a favourable context: Greek tourism is showing remarkable resilience, with hotel sales up 3% in 2026 according to the Bank of Greece. Long focused on volume, Rhodes is upgrading its offerings and now attracting luxury investors, following in the footsteps of Mykonos and Santorini but with still accessible land prices. The adults-only niche allows new establishments to stand out and capture a clientele willing to invest in high-end stays where tranquillity is the priority.
Our view
This partnership ticks all the boxes of the new Greek luxury equation: a local operator with land ownership and local knowledge, and an international brand bringing distribution and storytelling. The choice of an adults-only concept in Kallithea is particularly astute: just ten minutes from Rhodes town, the location targets European couples seeking serenity, a segment where Rhodian offerings remain limited. If the timeline holds, MGallery Rhodes will arrive in spring 2027 in a rapidly accelerating market; its real battle will be fought on the experience front, against the resorts on neighbouring islands that are already firmly established in travellers’ minds.
