We Tested the New Tea Time at Claridge Hotel Paris: All the Details and Prices

By Raphaël Simon | Thursday 12 March 2026

Some addresses are earned. Places you won’t find scrolling through TikTok or consulting a hastily compiled “best of” list. Places that exist, discreet, precious, behind cut-stone façades that residents of the 8th arrondissement pass every morning without a second glance. The Claridge Lounge is one such place. And now that it has decided to open its doors to the world with a brand new tea time experience, we felt it was our absolute duty to tell you about it. Golden Triangle, €30, Grand Cru champagne, and homemade pastries: the Parisian tea time you were looking for exists. And it’s called Claridge Lounge.

An Address That Breathes the Real Paris, the One Not Shown to Tourists

37 rue François-Ier. An address that says everything, yet nothing. We are here, in the beating heart of the Golden Triangle, a stone’s throw from the Champs-Élysées, a hop, skip, and a jump from Avenue Montaigne, where luxury cars double-park and palace doormen can recognise a guest from a curious passer-by at a glance. The Claridge Hotel Paris is anything but an ostentatious palace. That’s exactly what makes it irresistible.

Completely renovated, it unfolds a bright, contemporary atmosphere where Parisian elegance is expressed with that rare sobriety truly appreciated by connoisseurs. Clean lines, soft materials, generous natural light. Its 42 rooms and suites, divided into Classic (16-18 sq m), Deluxe (25-28 sq m, some with balconies), and Junior Suites (approx. 30 sq m), create an intimate setting for international guests and business travellers who know that true luxury often means tranquility. But today, it is not for the rooms that we invite you here.

The Claridge Lounge · The Revelation Paris Didn’t Know It Was Waiting For

At the heart of the hotel, the Claridge Lounge is not simply “the hotel café”. It is a genuine living space, a lounge in the most literal and aristocratic sense of the term. Open Monday to Saturday, from 12 pm to 7 pm, it welcomes both hotel guests and external clientele: local Parisians, professionals between meetings, visitors seeking a civilised break away from the cacophony of crowded brasseries. It offers a genuine living space, a lounge in the most literal and aristocratic sense of the term, welcoming both hotel guests and external clientele.

The promise? French cuisine that is simple, generous, traditional; the great classics one desires to eat without fuss, in a setting that doesn’t take itself too seriously but treats its guests with sincere attention.

The €30 Tea Time Formula: The Perfect Blend of Tradition and Guilty Pleasure

This is the highlight of the new menu. For €30, the Claridge Lounge offers a tea room formula that is, dare we say, one of the best value-for-emotion propositions in the entire 8th arrondissement. It represents an exceptional blend of tradition and indulgence, providing remarkable value.

A Mariage Frères tea + a pastry of your choice + a glass of De Sousa Grand Cru Réserve Blanc de Blancs Champagne.

De Sousa Champagne, Grand Cru Blanc de Blancs, for €30. In the Golden Triangle. We’ll let you ponder that.

Mariage Frères Teas and Angelina Chocolate: Two Icons for an Exceptional Break

The establishment has partnered with the institution from rue du Bourg-Tibourg to offer a carefully chosen selection at €8 per cup. This includes Marco Polo (black tea, the iconic one), Earl Grey Imperial (black tea, the benchmark), Casablanca (green and black tea, poetry in a cup), and Rouge Bourbon (caffeine-free, for sensitive souls). Chamomile, verbena, and lemon thyme infusions are available at €7 for gentle dreamers.

The Lounge’s other major signature? The traditional Angelina hot chocolate at €9. Not just any hot chocolate, this one will keep you glued to your armchair with its velvety thickness and pure cocoa aroma, transforming any grey afternoon into a moment of absolute grace.

Not to mention ice creams and sorbets in 2 scoops (€8) or 3 scoops (€12) in flavours such as hazelnut, pistachio, rum and raisin, vanilla pecan nut ice cream, or lemon, strawberry, mandarin, and mango sorbet.

The €29 Lunch Formula: When Paris Eats Well Without Breaking the Bank

For those visiting less for tea and more for a quick but truly excellent lunch, the €29 Lunch Formula is an absolute no-brainer. This formula includes a Starter + Main with chips OR Main with chips + Dessert + half bottle of mineral water, available Monday to Saturday from midday to 7 pm.

For starters, there’s organic mixed vegetable or pumpkin velouté (€12), Corrèze pâté with duck foie gras (€15), Caesar salad with chicken, croutons, and Parmesan (€18), a charcuterie platter to share for two with a glass of wine (€24), whole duck foie gras (€27), and Scottish smoked salmon platter (€27).

As for main courses, France in all its comfort food splendour: croque-monsieur with ham, cheese and béchamel (€12), Quiche Lorraine (€14), Provençal-style gnocchi (€20), salt pork with lentils (€22), Chicken Basquaise (€24), veal blanquette with rice (€25), Beef Bourguignon (€25), lamb with four spices and chips (€27), and veal axoa with vegetables and cured ham (€27).

The Wine and Champagne List: For Those In The Know

The Claridge Lounge does not compromise on its liquid offerings. In champagne, the De Sousa house takes centre stage: Rosé Brut or Grand Cru Réserve Blanc de Blancs at €18 per glass and €85 per bottle. For whites, a Sancerre at €12/€30 and a Chablis at €14/€38. For reds, Sancerre and Brouilly at €12/€30 and a Saint-Émilion Grand Cru at €14/€65. For rosé, Côtes de Provence M de Minuty at €12/€35. A concise, precise, well-chosen cellar, reflecting the discerning quality found throughout the establishment. Exactly like everything else here.
