The Iniala Valletta hotel in Malta launches WITHIN, a 12-discipline programme to stay fit for longer

In Valletta, the Iniala Valletta hotel is launching WITHIN, a programme built around living longer in good health. This is what is known as longevity: looking after your body today, through check-ups, exercise, nutrition and recovery, so you stay fit tomorrow. The concept was unveiled at the global tourism summit held in Malta from 7 to 9 October 2026.

Living better for longer, the idea behind WITHIN

WITHIN was founded by Mark Weingard, founder of the Iniala group, which also owns Iniala Beach House in Thailand. The idea is to bring together medical expertise, measurement tools and tailored coaching under one hotel roof, to help each guest keep their energy as they age. Iniala was one of the main sponsors of the World Travel & Tourism Council summit, where the programme was shown to the public for the first time, with live demonstrations of breathing, oxygen and recovery techniques.

12 disciplines, from blood tests to the sauna

WITHIN’s 12 disciplines cover medical wellness, physical performance, spa, beauty, recovery, nutrition, mental balance and the art of living. It all starts with a full assessment of the body: a blood test, a body composition measurement (the share of muscle and fat) and a PNOĒ metabolic assessment, a test that analyses your breath during exercise to see how the body burns its energy.

The programme draws on the Within Spa, set in the hotel’s historic stone vaults, with a heated pool, sauna and single or double treatment rooms, and on The Works gym.

Who are WITHIN’s partners?

The main medical partner is St James Hospital, a private hospital group in Malta. Around it, Iniala has brought together some ten brands: VISBODY for body-shape scanning, Inhale H2 for hydrogen inhalation, Sunlighten for infrared saunas, treatments from the Spanish brand Natura Bissé, plus Tim Biohacker, HIPOtech, Starpool, Stephen Cordina and The Tula Code. It is an approach close to that of the seven European addresses where the hotel becomes a clinic.

Nine suites and four residences in 2028

Iniala is already planning the next step: the WITHIN Suites & Residences will open in 2028, with nine suites and four residences designed around the programme. Today, the hotel has 33 rooms, suites and residences spread across several restored houses on St Barbara Bastion, above the Grand Harbour, Valletta’s great port. The Minor group is taking the same path in Asia with its Life Longevity brand.

Solis is open, with a palazzo still to come

The hotel has just opened the Solis wing, designed by Spanish studio A-cero: a restored palazzo leading up to a rooftop pool and Anaalā, the Thai restaurant of chef Ian Kittichai. At the summit, Iniala also announced a future palazzo conceived with Imperfettolab (Italy), DAAA Haus and Greta Design, where Berlin studio Working Title will develop a fashion concept. No opening date has been given. Malta is drawing other high-end projects, such as two historic mansions in Żurrieq soon to be joined into one hotel.

Two Michelin stars facing the Grand Harbour

Iniala Valletta is rated five stars by Forbes Travel Guide and holds two Michelin Keys. Its restaurant ION Harbour, run by British chef Simon Rogan, has two Michelin stars. On the official website, the cheapest night for two adults, from 12 to 14 November 2026, came to €505 in a Solis Room, taxes included (checked on 15 October 2026, two-night minimum stay).
