With its 281 rooms, The Dean Munich becomes the group’s largest hotel and its second address in Germany after The Dean Berlin, which opened in February 2026. The choice of Westend is no coincidence: formerly a brewing district, it has become a hub for artists’ studios and start-ups, just a stone’s throw from Munich’s famous Biergarten. An ideal playground for a brand that cultivates a mix of styles.

Designer Tatjana von Stein has created a scenography that dialogues between two eras: the natural motifs, curved lines, and artisanal details of Jugendstil (Munich Art Nouveau) and references to 1980s nightlife·glossy surfaces, lacquered finishes, and theatrical lighting. Room categories range from Standard rooms to signature suites, including the Dean Suite and the Penthouse Suite.
Ibasho, Bars, and the Power Wellness Concept
On the dining front, the hotel features Ibasho, a contemporary Japanese restaurant, complemented by several bars. The fitness and recovery aspect is handled by Power, the in-house wellness concept: an indoor pool, sauna, steam room, treatment rooms, and group classes set to music. A offering that ticks all the boxes for high-end urban lifestyle.
The Dean Joins Marriott’s Autograph Collection
Notably, The Dean Munich is joining Marriott’s Autograph Collection, the ‘soft brand’ that brings together distinctive independent hotels. This affiliation provides the hotel with Marriott’s distribution power and Bonvoy loyalty program, while preserving The Dean’s strong identity.
