◆ May 2026 · Marseille · Official hotel pool ranking
Our chic and premium ranking of the five most beautiful hotel pools in Marseille in 2026 · from seawater carved in rock to a historic 18th-century vaulted basin, and from rooftops overlooking the Vieux-Port and Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde to the sea. From the least prestigious to the most iconic · ranking, average rates, and direct links to availability.
Facing the Mediterranean, Marseille’s luxury hotel scene is one where the pool has become a genuine criterion of choice. Five properties, all situated within the Marseille metropolitan area, share a common thread: remarkable pools distinguished by their location, architecture, or view. From a seawater pool carved into the rock to a historic vaulted basin, from panoramic rooftops overlooking the Vieux-Port or Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde to private coves, each address offers a singular aquatic experience.
For this official La Revue Des Hôtels 2026 ranking, we applied one decisive technical criterion: each address must offer a pool that is remarkable for its architectural quality, its integration into the landscape, or its swimming comfort. Beyond this filter, we weighted four criteria: dining quality (Michelin stars, signature chef), service excellence, heritage character, and, for the later entries in the ranking, value for money.

The Passedat family built this villa in 1917 directly on the rocks of the Anse de Maldormé, on the Marseille corniche. Passed down through the generations, it was entirely renovated in 2007 by architect Rudy Ricciotti, who integrated a 20-metre infinity seawater pool hewn from the limestone rock. Heated to 28°C year-round, it replenishes daily via a direct circuit with the Mediterranean: a staircase carved into the stone allows guests to continue their swim in the open sea. From the basin, the gaze sweeps over the Frioul islands and the deep blue without any obstacle. Privacy is absolute, the hotel counting just sixteen rooms and suites. The gastronomic restaurant Le Petit Nice is led by Gérald Passedat, a three-Michelin-star chef since 2008, who elevates fish and vegetables from the Mediterranean. The Valmont spa completes the ensemble.

The ultimate reference in Marseille.

How to choose among these five addresses
The choice depends on the experience you are looking for. For a romantic gastronomic getaway with direct sea access, Le Petit Nice Passedat remains the absolute reference: 16 rooms, a three-Michelin-star restaurant, a seawater pool carved into the rock, total privacy. For a design hotel facing the open sea, Nhow Marseille stands out: its pool on the Corniche Kennedy facing the Frioul and its Matteo Thun-signed architecture make it the contemporary benchmark of the city. For views and urban energy, the Sofitel Vieux-Port and its rooftop are unrivalled: a 180° panorama over the Vieux-Port and Notre-Dame-de-la-Garde, with a lively lounge atmosphere in summer.
